Comms failure. Airport in lockdown, surrounding roads closed and massive police response including firearms and dogs.

The linked tanker just passed very near to FR4382, both in the 27,000s - is that normal? I thought there had to be more gap than that.

BBC: Prestwick Airport also remained open throughout, and a Ryanair passenger flight to Malta took off a short time after the Italian plane landed.

Sounds hugely sensationally undramatic.

C-27J - a civilian aircraft?

I thought these were military transports.

Anybody know who the operator was?

PP here. Am I the only one that carries a $200 handheld aviation radio in his flight bag?
