Airliner escorted by fighters over Leicestershire 08/08/13

Hi,

Whilst travelling between sites with work today, around 9.20ish, I noticed an airliner (couldn't tell what type or operator) over Loughborough with what looked like 2 fighters off the port wing. Anyone know what this was all about?

The Spitfire didn't "crash" !

The pilot selected "gear-up" instead of "flaps-up" after landing.

Do'h !

Never mind big eric, he is convinced it had a crash, nobody else does, but he is convinced he is right whatever his explanations.

I think you two think I am someone else.

This was the first time (albeit in 3 topics at almost the same time) I've ever mentioned the Spitfire crash/accident/incident on here and I dont know who you are. I can guess who 'big eric' is and which company he runs and if he is that person then I've never even spoken to him in person let alone about this.
