Control yokes not aligned
Hi - In a picture of a 707 flight deck, the control yokes are in different directions:
Could this happen when the systems are switched off?

Not sure about the 707, but in the VC10 if the controls become jammed there is a disconnect function between the control wheels.
One side controls the ailerons and the other the spoilers.
Therefore if the aileron control run jams, roll is controlled by the spoilers.

If you read the text beneath the photo it states :-
So there is your answer. They are not connected to anything.

The aileron control wheels are 'bussed' together by a cable and pulley system between them, underneath the floor. Obviously the cable has been removed or severed.
