Never let reality get in the way of a good plotline. If they did, Jurassic Park would have been set in a courtroom besieged by creationist protesters.

Top Gun? Arrogant and self obsessed new boy gets carpeted and demoted to toilet cleaner for six months.

AirForce One? Secret service arrest group. No further details available.

- now you do - feast your eyes! Of course, it's all photo-shopped - even the nosewheels.
YouTube - Aircraft Landing at Manchester Airport.
Love the comment at 1:10 in that video - "pretty good for a Ryanair landing"

probably because more than 50% of the aircraft had forgot to untick the 'nice landing box' on the FR website, and paid the subsequent fee that went with it!

What I find particularly impressive about the original photo is that it is only the near-side wheels which are in focus. Even the front far-side wheel is blurred.

Or are my eyes on the way out?

In fact, never ever in my 40 years mixing it with big jets have I EVER heard that bloody sound!
In the days when GCA trucks were situated close to the runway, the sound of rubbber hitting tarmac was clearly audible to the talk-down controller. Very satisfying to transmit "radar touch-down ..... now" to coincide with that double 'Eeek' 'Eeek', and pilots mighty impressed with the accuracy of the kit!

I'd be surprised if you could make a rubber surface go from 0 to 140kts by rubbing it with concrete without making a bit of a 'puff'!
Rare for sure. Never seen it done with a heavy but I do remember a couple of absolute paints with 737s. Best was Continental at DEN, I couldn't believe he was in fact down.
