Air Mauritius - what to expect

Hello,

I'm flying Air Mauritius this weekend, London to Mauritius - anyone have any idea what to expect in terms of how new/reliable the planes are as well as the in-flight experience?

Thanks!

They're actually using using old Second World War captured Japanese bombers, but they're OK- they put new tyres on and changed the oil, but the spark plugs were OK. Bomb racks give lots of drag, so you'll be stopping at Benghazi, Khartoum and Zanzibar on the way. The IFS is provided by old BA retirees who live in Windsor and all have loads of cats, but they do brush the hair off their uniforms. It'll be OK.

hehehe Rainboe!

Seriously has anyone flown with them and do they have a decent safety record as far as anyone can see? I'm not the most relaxed of fliers at the best of times, but I get through it by sticking with airlines I feel comfy with (and who give me loads of frequent flier miles) and aircraft models that I know the sounds and sensations of.

I thought I detected nerves! I can sniff them out. They are not allowed on my flights. They use the latest gear with excellent pilots. I would happily lay my carcase down and sleep solidly in their care. Good airline, excellent safety record, forge tthe nerves, go enjoy your holiday and don't let nerves spoil it. You will probably die dribbling down your bib with gnarled wizened hands in 50 years- why let nerves spoil a holiday to Mauritius now?

It's a lovely place. I used to live there. Know every GD beach in that place!

Mauritians look like Brazilians. All shades of colour. They spend a lot of time on beaches and dancing sega. Maybe they do have the odd ugly one, but they're not actually in a beauty contest! They are there to pamper you.
