FYI,

Reach-Air Mobility Command (Military Airlift Command, went away about 1992)
This call sign is not only used by USAF military cargo planes but also used by contract carriers flying airlift missions on behalf of the USAF.

Am not sure about the KLM Cityhopper callsign, they fly around most of the time as normal KLM or KLC.
Twinjet is also used by the UK / Luton company. (only single digit flight numbers).
Twinstar is DC Aviation Germany.

IIRC, "Batman" is used by G5 Exec Aviation.

I've heard it used quite a lot recently.

Heard and saw two good ones today--SHARJAH 1 out of LGW think was a 737 was in the cloud unfortunately and BOEING 2 went behind our house at lunchtime --think it was a 747 not sure where it was off to!

2 different ones for the callsign list!

I still prefer the older G5 Exec. Callsign...ALIEN

Astana line is incorrect, we are just Astana, the line part is the confusion for Europe flight numbers all beginning with 9.

callsigns

VIRGIN is a little unusual as whilst the callsign belongs to Virgin Atlantic it is also used by Virgin Blue domestically in Australia.

An agreement was apparently reached between the two airlines (which are both in the Virgin group but with quite different ownership and management structures) to share the callsign as long as Virgin Blue only use it within Australia. That was before Virgin Atlantic started flying to SYD but any confusion is minimal as flight numbers don't clash - presumably by arrangement.

That is also why Virgin Blue aircraft on regional flights outside Australia come under the Pacific Blue name with callsign BLUE BIRD (Pacific Blue is NZ based but a number of Oz based and registered aircraft fly in their colours as well).

Virgin Blue is shortly starting long haul 777 flights to the USA under the trading name V Australia - does anyone know what the callsign will be for those flights?
