The "I have not seen the large Red Notice at the top and read it properly" thread

Here it is - the thread for those who are either visually or organisationally challenged.

It looks as if it will be a busy thread.

I will be 'thinning' and re-allocating as we move along. Hey-ho!

In case you are STILL unsure it means you missed the correct thread

If you want to listen to ATC rather than just aircraft you are going to need a good external aerial mounted as high as possible. Even then you would be unlikely to get much further than 15-20 miles or so. VHF is essentially line of sight, so ground to ground is always going to be limited. Air to ground on the other hand can often be good for 200 miles depending on the altitude of the aircraft.

I think there is still at least one radio hobby magazine going - the amateur radio suppliers normally stock suitable gear, and would be a good source of advice.

New Heathrow Caterer

I was at LHR over the weekend for the T5 trials and whilst over at Terminal 2 notices a catering truck for Royalblue Executive Services. Does anyone know which airline(s) they cater ?

Spotting at Heathrow

Folks,

Might get the chance to spend a bit of time around LHR soon...

What are the best places, either on the complex or outside, to do a bit of leisurely spotting on a Saturday afternoon?
