B737 G-thoo

In reply to where G-THOO is to be based

The aircraft was delivered from Shannon to Coventry some time today the aircraft could be Coventry as it,s base for now.

This could mean the departure of a B737 500 to greener pastures.

Liverpool/Manchester Lufthansa Questions

I noticed a flight plan for an LH A319 from Gander to Liverpool on Saturday, arriving early afternoon. Any idea what this was as I couldn't see a flight out to anywhere.

Considering the Low Vis conditions affecting the North West, might the above aircraft have diverted to MAN and become the Privatair A319 aircraft which flew to DUS?

Even so, what's the deal?

For some reason the regular Lufthansa all-business flight from the US to Dusseldorf (not sure if it was the ORD or EWR flight) was planned to stop en route for a crew change in LPL. Due to weather there it did indeed divert to MAN. The flight is operated by Privatair on Lufthansa's behalf with a 319, in this case D-APAC.

Thought it might be something like that.

But it still confuses me that it flew from Gander, rather than ORD or EWR and that it uses LPL rather than MAN, a regular LH diversion/tech stop airport as well as LH serving it.

Maybe they had a particularly high payload or strong winds en route? Or maybe a tech or medical issue forced a stop at Gander?

Does Privatair have an aircraft at Chester over the weekend? If they do, presumably the crew will be at an hotel nearby and therefore it might be quicker for them to position to Liverpool rather than Manchester, with the transatlantic crew doing whatever duties the Chester aircraft has planned?

MYT in SYD

Hi,

I saw an MYT A330 parked up in SYD last week, were they doing flights like Britannia used to do back in the day. Austravel used to use Britannia to do flights to NZ via AUH/SIN, I was just wondering if it was a similar thing?

Thanks.

I think this stop is part of their around the world holiday. 30 days or so, with 11 stop offs. It looked absolutely amazing, and if they do it again, would be well worth an investment...once in a lifetime trip by all accounts.

It will probably be the 753, It flew some flights to RHO last summer.

There are only 2 753's, So anything can happen??

Flight check's May issue will show all the regular Summer I.T flights, Available at the Airport for £2.

Regards.
