Thanks for the info! Quick question, where were the tests taken at? I guess they were at Barcelona as they have their main base there, but I'm not sure...

Banana Joe 11th Sep 2019 17:08

Tryp Hotel, in front of Vueling's HQ.

Sorry for English.

I've received an invitation for the 8th of October (although not confirmed)

As far as I know, there will be an online aptitude test in the "Predictive Index" platform.

Can anyone share some information regarding this test and how to prepare for it?

Thanks!

Banana Joe 13th Sep 2019 12:37

Just google The Predictive Index. The pdf I found was very similar to the type of questions I had.

Aero Joe 13th Sep 2019 13:25

Thank you!

I think I found the PDF you are referring to.

Your invitation it was for assessment or interview????

Tú invitación fue para las pruebas o entrevista personal ????

Aero Joe 13th Sep 2019 13:46

I was invited initially for the September dates, but the spots were already filled by the time they confirmed the date and so they gave me new dates for October for the first stage. So not for the interview, but for the first stage.

Does anyone know about their schemes for NTR?

Bonded, self-funded or something else entirely?

Banana Joe 13th Sep 2019 17:30

You do the type rating where you want.

Anyone A320 rated, and did the technical test with vueling? I would appreciate for some feedback. Thanks!

Self-funded.

DR_Murc13l4g0_ES 14th Sep 2019 15:12

Hi, can someone clarify when we do the aptitude test plase.

I got an wmail offering day 8/29 of oct (i picked 8th but havent had it confirmed yet)- saying i would have an english assessment and theory. And the week before I would be sent a link with the aptitude tests. is this right?

Those of who that have passed the first stage, how long before you were told you passed and when do you have the interview?

thanks

Banana Joe 18th Sep 2019 17:03

It will take them some time to confirm the date but they will.
How long after the first phase they call you depends. I was called 2 days later, some 2 weeks later.

Got the date on 8th October, but I've change it to 29th October due to work. Haven't received final confirmation yet. No FW jet experience, only CPL with ME/IR on airplanes and 800 hours on helis.

Any idea if you have to self fund base training on real aircraft as well? Or you do it after OCC with company airbus?

Banana Joe 20th Sep 2019 10:18

As far as I know, you have to self fund base training as well and most of the applicants are eligible for reduced base training (4 takeoffs and landings). It's a good question by the way, I did not think about it nor if they would sell base training at a better price, so I didn't ask at my interview. They were quite open and would reply to all questions.
Maybe someone else about to do the interview could ask and report back.
I made it to the final stage.

Congrats Banana Joe. Out of curiosity I've got few offers for A320 TR. Very similar in pricing. Arround 15000€ ground school and sim, 6000€ base training. I am somehow disgusted about paying for getting a permit to fly on employer's equipment. I would rather sign a bond. But today's professional aviation is full of sacrifice and prostitution anyway :)

Banana Joe 20th Sep 2019 19:07

Indeed, I would be happy to take a bond if they were offering one.

You guys want bonds? The solution is easy, NOBODY, I repeat: NOBODY TAKE A JOB THAT REQUIRES PRIOR PAYMENT OF THE TYPE RATING.

21000€ up front? Vueling? Race to the bottom..
