Oferta-demanda.

It is fairly clear that TC's have deteriorated over the years, but reducing that to paying a TR or not is fairly unfair. Cadets pay an absolute fortune to join BA and yet they are take pride of their jobs. Iberia new joiners are starting to pay their TR and yet they fly the national flag carrier prouder than ever.*

As far as I am concerned, Vueling will soon sign a new Collective Labour Agreement that put them in line with other major airlines in terms of TC's. Potential earnings might even be higher than in the national flag carrier, so I am not sure whether putting the TR payment in the equation will make Vueling look as a "bad place to be".

"Race to the bottom" was accepting to be paid solely by duty or flight time or other major catastrophes that have occurred in the industry. If paying for TR was so cruel we would have to go back to the days where MCC started to be required by the airlines, even to the date in which the first pilot self-funded his or her studies. Most of us have, but we do not complaint about that even if it the ATPL is 5x times more expensive (usually) than the TR itself.

----

I do not know why many people seem to hate Vueling in a open manner. I know people who are extremely happy there, mostly the ones who live near the place they want to live in. It works for many, and the airline is solid and probably one of the only ones that will be around in the future with so many of them going under. Yes, it has not had the best reputation maybe but it happens to be one of the only airlines negotiating a good increase in TCs, so no "race to the bottom" involved, mainly the opposite.

I would suggest that this post is meant to be for constructive information regarding the airline and not as a little speakers corner where some users can vomit their frustrations in public, especially where they themselves have demonstrated opposite behaviors in the past.

Vueling are not asking for money. They don't do type ratings. The candidates are free to choose their ATO of choice. Of course if they were offering a bond or reduced salary for a reasonable amount of time I would accept it.

Hi guys !
Do you know if they are still recruiting ?
I tried to send my application several times without getting any reply.
Do you know which are the "real" requirements ? I mean is Spanish a mandatory requirement, or they are looking for a particular licence, because I could convert after.
I'm really interested in this position.

Hey everyone!

I am also very interested in this position and I have a question that maybe one of you guys can help me with.
I noticed that in the requirements they ask for an "unrestricted" class 1 medical. I wear glasses so I obviously have the VDL limitation on my medical. Do any of guys know if this is considered a "restricted" medical certificate that would eliminate me from the selection process?

Thank you!

I have done the simulator assessment for NTR just a few days ago.
Take off with flight directors and 20 kts crosswind, then flight directors will be disconnected and you will do some aerial work like turns, climbs, descends, interception of radial inbound/outbound and raw data DME arc. Finally, vectors for raw data ILS with 20 kts crosswind down to the minima followed by a go around. Next, repositioning on the runway, same wind and engine failure on take off (expect the upwind engine to fail, the critical one). Finally, expect the assessor to pull a trick on you by asking to confirm the wrong fuel control switch or fire push button during the engine failure excercise. I was not allowed to use the AP during the engine failure after reaching 400 ft RA, so remember not to pull on the stick once you reach 12,5° nose up attitude. That was a bit hard for me, coming from conventional aircraft.

Still waiting for their final feedback.

Great feedback! Thanks.

Was the simulator and interview in one go or seperate stages?

No, it was in two separate days, but it depends on sim availability.

Hello! I've been invited to interviews on the 8th! Questions for those who have attended and are TR, the exam is only Airbus questions? Or there's also ATPL questions? The email I've received states "(*) If you have in your website profile the 320-type rating, your aeronautical knowledge exam will be about the Airbus 320." so mainly wondering if I need to focus on Airbus questions or both!

Does anyone have an idea of the psych eval they give you a week before? I don't want to schedule my flights and be barred from the first stage a week out.

It's The Predictive Index, nothing really hard from what I have seen, you can find some examples with Google and on YouTube. And they are not giving a feedback about it either.
They send it before phase one, but it seems it's needed for phase two. Just do it as soon as you can, it won't take more than 20 minutes.

Anyway, none of my simulator assessment group has received a feedback yet.
I've been told it can take up to one month in some cases!

Thanks for the reply. I just got the email for that.
I see that you are NTR, have you looked at any providers and gotten quotes for the rating and any financing options?
This will be the most limiting factor for me and I know few years ago RYR asked point blank "How will you afford the type rating? "
Wonder if they'll do same at Vueling.

Yes, Wasim in Spain and one place in my home country. DaVinci Aereo is popular amongst French people. Wasim is around 18k, 21k in France. You can do it also at CAE with Vueling SOP from day one.

They did not ask me how I can afford the type rating and I am still waiting for the final reply. I had my sim 10 days ago.

Hope you get good news soon.

I did the PI it's very simple and the PDF you find on their website pretty much exactly to the real one.

Here's the site and the PDF with explanations.

Dressing for assessment

Hello, how do people dress for the assessment day? Suits or less?
