They confirmed 2 weeks after I declined the earlier date. If you are on the 29.10 I'd get in touch again otherwise just give it time. I think they might be a bit overloaded.

Swimming test.

I know maybe it's a silly question, but, do you need to swim without life jacket in any test of Vueling?

I don’t know why but I can receive just one private message so I’ve just deleted the other message.

Rumour has it that they may not need 100 pilots anymore, and they have currently stopped upgrade courses. After one month from my sim, I have not heard from them yet.

Well they are still running both interviews and assessments so nothing has changed on that department!

But are they doing the interviews and assessments for pilots with experience or there are also low pilots hours there?

Yes they are, indeed I've said they are just rumours, but I received them from people working there.
Another strong rumour is the 737 MAX entry into service next year, with the intent to switch to Boeing in the future and that they have started writing manuals already. Remember, IAG signed a MoU for 200 737 MAX not long ago. And Flyadeal in the ME cancelled their order so the airframes are available.

Writing from the train back to the city. Really straight forward. About 85 people, but lots of empty chairs with candidate numbers so no-shows maybe?

Everyone I talked to was experienced, military or big jet operators. The only fresh cadets seemed to be Spanish, foreigners were experienced. I obviously didn't talk to everyone though. That's about as specific I can get.

English is in 2 parts, first is a fill in the blank with a story over the speakers, quite easy. Second part is atrocious. You have atis, clearance, ground movement and a controller. Audio is terrible but there's a slight pause between each exercise. Seats are assigned so lucky or unlucky.

The atpl exam is focused on someone flying for a commercial operator, not very difficult. But quite tricky. Met (viz and altimeter), fuel planning (no calculation but lots of reserve and alternate fuel Qs), ndb and Rmi intercept + hold, POF (drag and few constant speed what goes up and down, blocked static tube) performance (t/o segments, flap settings, tora asda etc), comms, lost comms TCAS RA. Icing procedures and maintenance procedures, MEL MMEL CDL.

They ask when you can come for interview when you are finished if you haven't informed otherwise.

They don't mention salary, T&C, TR providers, intake numbers or anything other than "we are going to NEXT 2.0 and want 200 airplanes, 50% are BCN based but we have other bases" + video that you can find on YouTube after searching Vueling and the "presentation" finishes it off with "so we are different than other LCCs" So useless .

I expect these things to be discussed on later stages but tbh I have never seen absolutely zero discussions during an open assessment. Flight schools offer more information. Big con IMHO.

No need for suit and tie. It was 50-50. It was all in English, they obviously dropped the Spanish requirement.

Hi Hawker400

Did you have feedback from any of the other guys about the ATPL test for those who were already A320 Type Rated?

Thanks

Hi! Unfortunately when I left I ended up only talking to non-rated guys so I don't have feedback for that. They did get a whole different packet before the rest of us.

Adding on to some questions; ZFW, TOW, Traffic load. Buffeting, and 2 upset recovery. Wet and dry v1. High speed descent and TAS with mach .86 FL320 ISA +10.

For the A320 Type Rated all question is a straight forward question, very easy for any A320 pilot, no tricky questions. And it’s all A320 question, they will ask about all the systems, about 7 questions for each main system, around 3 for minor systems.

I’m still in the first phase, which I did yesterday, but as I heard from the guys up in the comments, they said it’s normal Sim checks, cross wind take off with FDs on AP off , then normal climbs Descend turns , go around with 20kts cross wind, engine failure after V1, raw data approach and landings with OEI 20kts cross wind critical side.

They are postponing OCCs from November to February 2020. No wonder I haven't heard from them yet.

Sorry to hear that BananaJoe.
Let's hope you hear something from them soon.

Regarding my application, still no news.
