Paraplegic passengers in light aircraft.

Flying for the parachute club that I fly for, I met someone is paralysed from the chest down. I have offered to take him flying, (probably in a C152) HE seemed very keen and I think he will take me up on it.
He is independent and drives etc, and a friend while probably come along to help him on the ground. I just wondered if any one had any advice.
What about insuring his legs do not foul the controls?
Emergency eggress of the aircraft?
Special points for briefing him?
Thanks for any info esp comments from anyone who had a simular condition themselves and can shed light on the problems.

paraplegic passengers

Flew many hours (PA28"s) with a paraplegic PPL .I think the C152 is not ideal ,but do-able.
Egress posed no probs due to a/c config(low wing)
I think the risk is out weighed by the pleasure factor.
Have fun!

Thanks for the thoughts, neils Obviously the thing concerning me is the engine failure type senario and the need to get out fast.
With regard to high wing / low wing. I thought the ability to roll the chair up to the door would have been better than him clambering over the wing (with me needing to be inside first in a PA28)
I suppose I could take him up in the Cherokee Six we use as a jump ship (with the right-hand pilots seat back in!) More room, an exit to the rear (padded floor rather than seats in the back)as well as over the wing..Obviously somewhat more expensive than the 152 to hire though, even at 'cost' rate from the centre.
If he takes me up on it, I will find a way though. Taking non-pilot pax up is one of the pleasures of flying, and someone who's paraplegic, even more so. Never know, might inspire him to take up it up!
