Byers Resigns

So he finally fell on his sword. It took long enough for hin to admit that in real terms there was such a seaonally adjusted thing as a sword.

Perhaps he borrowed Jonathan Aitkin's "Trusty Sword of Truth"

:D

Perhaps Tony will give Mandy his job!

touch&go 28th May 2002 16:38

He said resigning was "the right thing to do" for the Labour Party and for the government.

Surely the nation should come first.

fadec_primary_channel 28th May 2002 16:40

Implications??

Now he has done it, I wonder how this influences the ongoing open skies etc?:)

sokoyu 28th May 2002 16:41

So what bad news is this announcement timed to cover up?

teawhite1 28th May 2002 17:17

Cant see why this is being lauded as such a big story? Let's face it, he will be replaced by another tail wagger who daren't say what he thinks, and has the supreme ability to avoid the question.
And now the plaudits will spout about how well he did his job in such difficult circumstances......!

That's because he had an aversion (IMHO) to telling the truth! Ideal candidate for politics. No doubt he'll weasel his way into some high profile banking position.

Ah, but has he misunderstood again and not actually resigned?

I do not suppose we will get a transport minister who puts equal importance on aviation as other forms of transport.

How often have you heard about goverment transport policies that never even mention aviation?

Pants on Fire

He's not really resigned, he's lying again...
