Historic space-related videos...
Dunno if it's worth having (sticky?) thread for interesting videos wvihich perhaps don't merit a thread of their own.
This one about early Shuttle testing from Scott Manley popped up on YouTube today - don't think I'd seen Fred Haise's PIO before though I'd read about it in several books... |
Thanks treadders,
I had not seen that video before. Excellent. |
Good call, I watched that a while ago. Scott (Hullo, Fly Safe) Manley is on my you tube subscribe list. Very good presenter.
I like The Angry Astronaut too but for very different reasons. 😁 |
Get past the quite understandable 4 minute introduction in this video and you will find Neil Armstrong stepping up to make a presentation on the development of the Lunar Landing Research Vehicles (LLRV)and the follow on Lunar Landing Training Vehicles (LLTV) which all Apollo commanders from Armstrong onwards used in preparation for their missions.

Excellent - thank you wiggy!

A combination of the right stuff, combined with a dry sense of humour. :)
I had the pleasure of flying every one of the machines - the helicopter, the X-14A, the LLRF, the ground-based simulators, the LLRV, the LLTV, the Lunar Module and even the Weber ejection seat, the last not by choice. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....3d5aa4b3c.jpeg |
