China C (Crew) visa
Any Fed Ex or Business Jet pilots ever tried to cross into China on a C Visa recently through the Shenzhen Bei gate from Hong Kong into China. Is this even allowed by China and if so do I need a letter from my company a business jet operator of what I am attempting? Our aircraft is in Shenzhen looking to move it to VHHH. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

My understanding is that with a Crew Visa you can land only on your company’s plane on a Gen Dec.
Any other kind of entry would require a business visa. And such entries are banned until May 22nd. |
Once landed company jet in Shenzhen on diversion. HK crew sent over as we hit duty limit. They had no issue entering and collecting the aircraft and pax, and exiting HK thru crew channel.
We as crew heading back in mini bus to HK had a nightmare at border as we had ‘entered’ on GD; took hours. |

Can anyone share which chinese consular office is able to issue crew visas? those of us in the business jet world mostlyl operated with business visas which are temporarily suspended.

Last time I travelled, you could get a visa for the Shenzhen special economic zone on arrival from Hong Kong via the MTR and IIRC the ferry. Note that Shenzhen airport is outside the SEZ and requires a normal China visa.

Hi guys
Can anybody who has had an experience shed some light for using C visa to go to China May I use C visa for traveling to China as a pax? I have never used C visa for my duties only GD and business visas Thanks Safe flights and well health |
You cannot travel to China as a pax unless you have a scheduled flight assignment and a permission approval from the CAAC for your flight and you would need to show those official documents to the immigration officials upon entering China. As far as where to get a C visa, any Chinese consulate will issue them. They require a stamped company letter from your DFO and you must be on an approved list of Operators in order to get one. Also realize most are issued with only a 10 day maximum stay in China.

No, it really depends upon what type of flying you are doing and where you are trying to get the C visa. All cargo flights are normally approved anywhere. A friend of mine tried to get one recently in Hong Kong who flies for a business operator and was declined. It never hurts to ask, you can also use an agent to try and get one for you. It is more problematic if not flying in and operating the flight but is possible with the correct paperwork. Most of these only come with a 10 day or even 7 day restriction on length of visa so take that into consideration.

Bad news
China extended the restrictions for foreigner until October. |
Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on Tuesday issued a notice that it extends Five Ones policy until October 2020 if not longer and airlines should not sell tickets for flights that won’t take place
