SE Asia - What are airlines doing?

Transiting Singapore, like in Hong Kong so many parked aircraft. Made me think with QF announcement, what are airlines in the region are doing?

Singapore Airlines - ?
Scoot - ?
Jetstar Singapore - ?

Vietnam Airlines - ?
Jetstar Vietnam - ?
Bamboo - ?
Vietjet - ?

Thai -
Bangkok Airways -

Malaysian -

Air Asia (everywhere) -

Garuda -
Malindo -
Lion -

Thats gotta be more staff than the QF group, forced leave???

Its easy to get reports from Western Countries and the impact is HUGE, no doubt this region with less staff protections, etc things must be getting tough.

Less staff protection says who?

Singapore at this moment, can be considered a virtual shutdown. Short term visitors/transits are not allowed, only essential services are allowed in. Work permit holders are restricted to those who are working in essential industries, air transport is not one of them at this time.

Thai Air Asia is grounding its entire fleet during April.

I'm hearing that expats at Lion Air are asked to go on 2 months of unpaid leave.

Johndoe906 22nd Jun 2020 08:37

Deviate,

True that, locals were also asked to, but it was voluntary. Now pilots are facing 75% paycut. No job axing so far in Lion's den though.

It’s been a few months and this thing is certainly carrying on. Thought an update to see what’s happening in the region apart from the obvious of what you read in the media.

Generally this region a lot of information doesn’t seem to get to prune, could be a good thing!

So anything interesting?

Even the ME forum appears to give a little more info.

Hope your all being looked after.

In Vietnam as I heard, terms and conditions are really bad, for A-320 captain: 3000usd for 80hrs and no commuting.

It’s been about a month since last post.

I notice some new China contracts are :ugh:.

See many aircraft from the region heading to the sand in Oz still.

Latest Corona ****e going down in Oz ain’t gunna help.

How is everyone in the region doing? I’ve heard some very interesting stories from mates in different outfits, sound horrendous the attitudes of the upper echelons in some. Here’s hoping things get better before they get worse!
