Best job as a complete layman
 

I am only aware of the 300K salaries advertised for certain CN companies, but I am wondering what would be the best companies in Asia to work for as an expat from Europe? I am considering all my options worldwide as I am not happy at my current employer. 3000+ Hrs, full ATPL, 320 rated, all hours are above 40T

Second that. OP. Grab a newspaper, any newspaper, from anywhere in the world and that should tell you enough about the state of the Chinese job market... Afraid even $300 a year is looking pretty unlikely...

That situation will pass and Asia will still have the biggest growth in the world. Also, Im not even really talking about China, just Asia in genera

Maybe just be happy to be employed right now.

3000 hours on 40T. Doesn’t sound like enough for anything in the contract world.

Yeah not really qualifying for a 300K job in China. More serious research seems to needed from the OP. It does take more than just dreaming.

Hence why I started this topic to hear experiences or actual opinions from people who are actually working there. Never said I wanted to get one of the big salary jobs in China, just said that those are the ones that pop up on the job sites. Just interested in how people like it there.

Mostly we are staring down the barrel of long periods back home on unpaid leave.

if you can secure a decent job at home, stay there, flying as an expat means that you are there purely because they cannot get enough locals or they can get away with paying you a lot less, while being able to screw you over and get away with it. It all looks very exciting in the brochures and marketing videos. Be warned, an OK option to make baucks quickly and leave or if there are no decent options at home. I am sure others would disagree but that is my take, as a long time expat. Remember seniority teds to make a move to a decent airline at home more difficult, the longer you stay as an expat.

OR, don't stay at an expat gig long enough to get a local wife, local kids, local credit card, local mortgage, local car mother in law driving license business club friends hobbies... then you will be permanently trapped in a temporary job.

My friend if you have a job right now consider yourself lucky. Cling onto it like a starfish to a rock, regardless of whether you are "happy at your current employer" or not. The time will come to start looking around again but it's not gonna be any time this year

An expat will always be the first to go when times get bad,.... and at the moment things don't look too good.

Iggy, have done none of that, am a commuter, which is what a lot of expat jobs are about now, still on wife #1. Another reason why one stays in this game for a long time is the lack of decent opportunities back home and the longer one stays, the older one gets, the less the opportunities.

No regrets from my side, it is working out OK ( would be far more comfortable in a decent operation at home) but younger pilots should be well aware of the trap being set.
