PILOT RESIGNATION

Foreign devils have 30 days notice if leaving the country, foreign and locals have 6 months OR as per contract which could be more if trying to change companies within India, also appears to apply for locals heading overseas.

Cannot change companies without a NOC from existing/previous local employer within the contract specified period.
Companies can use as a weapon, don't expect any assistance from DGCA as their allegiance is directed elsewhere.

Case went to High Court a couple of years ago, nothing appears to have changed.
Cheers.

Indigo Airlines doesn’t pay initial employment visa and renewal visa fee.
Also Pilot should pay Indian Medical fee and FATA Exam fee to DGCA

Thanks for the info healonnavy. Any inputs on GoAir’s terms? Which do you reckon offers the better deal for an expat captain? Cheers.

DUNNING KRUGER EFFECT

when joined company, you will observe, there are too many dunnnig kruger sydrome ( effect) in company. It isn’t easy comunicate with them. :ugh: :ugh:
It’s a concept propounded by psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger at Cornell University in 1999 to explain why some individuals suffer from “illusory superiority” and mistakenly assess their ability to be much higher than it really is. It’s called the Dunning-Kruger effect.

For any considering the two anecdotal only, speaking to an ex Jet Captain with friends in both Indigo and Go Air:
- Indigo very structured, 3-4 sectors per day and minimum (15 hour) rests, apparently the highest med renewal rate miss due hypertension, DGCA discussd and management openly admit they expect pilots to burn out and be replaced but operating within all required regs, maybe burnout not such a consideration for a short time contract position;
- those in Go Air apparently the "happiest" out of Vistara, Indigo and Spice.

Things continue to evolve, rumours Air India will be broken up by end October with Vistara taking the longhaul stuff and Spice the AirIndia Express, the domestic A320's/ATR's not really mentioned or unclear.

Cheers.
