Fantastic Pay - but be careful
 
Seems most of the A320 positions in Chin'r offering up the same pay. With variations of when you are paid [Bonus, Overtime, Accommodations, etc.] might want to talk with the contractor about this one. See if you can get some answers to hard questions. I have a buddy [who's father was one of the contractors] get stiffed on over $100k in overtime, bonuses, etc. from this carrier. Mind you it was five (+) years ago. A truly amazing/heartwrenching story 2Bsure.

Wish we could get some current pilot feedback on this. Maybe your contractor could put you in touch with one ??

CAK: not really sure it applies to you: CAAC does not accept pilots with PIC hours from Turkey. Or something close to that effect.

Horror stories will be a frequent talk in any Chinese company, I guess it all depends on how you manage to get through and yes, they’re lots of variables that certainly do not depend on you, as the medical, in flight events, CAAC measures, etc. I have many friends who’ve manage staying alive without any problem during more than eight years and also heard about some that don’t even make it through the initial training. China is not a place for standard pilots, you have to be slightly above and be prepared for zero error tolerance. I’ve also come to learn that part of the reason of the strict measures imposed by the operators is because of the pressure they receive from the authority who impose sanctions on every single unsafe event. Flying in China is, as someone stated in one of these forums, like “walking in thin ice”. As long as you stay out of trouble you’ll be fine, but hey, we are humans and it is human to err!
Anyway, talking specifically about this company, I can tell you that so far, I wouldn’t have any complaints. There are around 130 +/- expat pilots and many have been here for more than 6/8 consecutive years without any problems. But I also knew of a couple of the same seniority that just got demoted after a CAAC sim check, that’s just how things are in any company here. After all it comes to a combination of good working skills, health, professionalism and good luck...

You will also have to consider that Shanghai is the most expensive city and Juneyao is not precisely the highest paying carrier, so if you’re thinking about moving in with your family, give it a second thought.

Might be as a FO, but not as a Captain’s salary. They’re plenty of other higher paying offers out there, although you have to consider that usually you’ll have to be based in cities which are not as expat friendly...

Been there done that. Spent one contract; at that time the training (at training pay) was awfully and painfully low (now this has been improved); big airline, you feel to be just a number; operations from two airports, lot of added fatigue; pay below average; Shanghai very expensive. On the other hand: great bunch of friendly people amongst the expat pilot community, good relations inside the company, namely the section 3 that is the expat section. Training and checking easier than it is in other airlines. I moved to another one in another city, so far without any regret.

usd296k per annum as co-pilot??? Basic salary for foreigner co-pilot is only 11k usd per mth. Is impossible to get that much even after adding all the allowances.

i spent 3 years in the company as PIC on resident contract with the airline, basic is 18k usd per mth. After adding all claims and allowances, plus 100hrs OT... adds up to about 250~260k per annum.

Yes, but that's after tax so to earn that at home you can nearly double it.

Shouldn't Go to Juneyao
 
If you want to move to China with a320, it is not a good option, Juneyao. Pay of training period, it is very low. Simulators and Line training solely depends on very young Chinese checker, they are rude, arrogant, not a global standard. If they don't like you, you will be failed or Line training will be more than 6 months then company doesn't pay in full even though training period exceeds 150days of contract condition. After pass all the training, Chinese checker will give you a failure in recurrent check forcing downgrade first officer on the other word, 70% of full payment. This is how Juneyao save money and how the checkers maintain failure rate.
Shouldn't go to Juneyao and China
They are out of global manners, standard.

Payless, Leaves rejections
 
Because CAAC flight duty rule changes, company won't be able to assign more than 900 hrs per year. Highest roster option $20,000 monthly was deleted. 2000 bucks less than Spring Air.
Failure of recurrent check, downgrade to FO 30% reduction of Salary which Spring air doesn't.
Without contract terms, leaves are rejected July, August, National Holiday(October ), Chinese New year, December.
Office manager rejects all leaves without calculations regardless of flight demands. It's ridiculous.
During layovers, if you drink alcohol you will be fired.
Wanna come Shanghai? Go to Spring Air
Recently 2 guys have fired by SIM and line training.
