Would appreciate any updated information about this airline.

- How long is the training for NTR? is it something like Japan, in which it can take 6 or 8 months to complete the initial training?

- How much, and how long, is the bond?

- Medical - is it like the Mainland, something for astronautes, or more down to earth?

- Cockpit environment towards foreign people?

From what I see regarding the pay, it will be taxed at 40% due to pilots being locally based.
Or am I missing something?...

Being considered a resident in Taiwan (residing there over 183 days within a calendar year, does not need to be consecutive) is generally better tax wise if you fall below a certain threshold. Otherwise a flat 18pct Tax Rate is better if you are non resident.

Example given.

So one has to be outside of Taiwan for 183 days per year. Do they consider leaving on a GD being outside the country? They state that day's outside Taiwan are counted from passport stamps. Is there an exception for flight crew?

If not, then it says residents tax rate for $4.4mil NTD is 40%.

That would make your take home very slim.

They will take approximately 18% tax every month. In May you will file tax and will get a tax return of about one average monthly salary. That was my case and of my expat friends. If you are married, have kids.... you get to claim all of them and usually in the end your actual tax bill is about 10-12%.

In the Green Giant every expat was considered to be commuting so 183 days was never a problem, as far as I know. Actually the least of your problems should be worrying about tax, but 8 bdos per month on the other hand is very slim. Hard to commute unless you can attach annual leave days and use them to commute. Or like in the Green Giant, you can pay off the scheduler with coupons and other gifts so you can have a nice handmade schedule.
