Need insight into the screening process of Air Macau Non type rated pilots including the technical written and oral questions to be expected. Also a bit about the work environment, living conditions of Macau etc. thanks in advance |

Gents,
All I know is that theres a 5 year (or use $50,000 bank guarantee) bond if you re not type rated and if you are its down to 4 years (or use $30,000 bank guarantee). Around $5500 pm but if you choose to go down the bond route the cost of training will be deducted and therefore you will end up with less on your monthly pay!! Lots of flying and not a lot of time off!! But good place to build you time and move on!! Anyone have any recent info on the interview tech questions and the sim profile.. |

The recruitment process is a joke. In a group of 5, 4 of which were experienced multi-engine heavy turbo-prop drivers, the only candidate who was offered a position was from Susi Air and had 1800h, 800h of which were co-pilot time in a Caravan ! ! ! ! ! i.e technically non logable. That person consequently did not meet the minimum requirements but the company accepted these hours as legitimate. It really helps having friends on the inside...............
Also that person apparently stalled after take-off in the V1 cut exercise in the simulator but was still offered a job, the only job available as it was all pre planned in advance since there was only one spot for the medical. The simulator assessment consists of single-engine raw data ILS with 27kts cross winds amongst other things and is not there to gauge your trainability at all. Air Macau, thanks but no thanks, not impressed at all what a joke. |

If only the experience was important to them, why would they bother doing an assessment? Just reading the CVs would be sufficient. How you perform during the interview and simulator is what matters. And by the way, that guy did not stall during the V1 cut exercise, is a captain and not an FO on the Caravan, and has more than a 1000h turboprop multi-crew, which was the requirement to apply. No inside friends needed there. Get your facts straight buddy.... |

It sounds about right, they interview 6 or 8 people at a time, usually only 1 or 2 make it through the sim, for NTR turboprop guys its the best deal out there if you can get through, for exp guys already why would you even bother.

2things that held me from going there: signing for 5 years witha bond of 50.000usd :ugh:. And the pollution.
