CASA CPL for GA job in south Asia?

Hello pilots and non, thanks for reading my post! Any tip or answer will be incredibly significant for me right now!:}:}:}:bored::bored:

I have just got a CASA CPL, and I would like to get some more ratings (I.e. Night or floats, or both) in order to find a little job as charter in South Asia.
Any place? Tips? suggestions?

I have an European passport, does this creates problems if I wish to work in the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua, Malaysia or similar?

Massive thanks
Francesco

Dear Francesco,

The one and only country you can try in Asia is Hong Kong!

Believe me, Dragon Air and Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong "suck" in lots of caucasian (Aussies, Americans & etc) low timers!

9 out of 10 successful applicants, are non-Asians. You know what i mean.

That is interesting truefaith, but what about the G.A. market over there?
I like the idea of the line, but I lack the IFR and ATPL for the moment.

Anybody knows whats the best country of south asia to start with a cpl and 200 hours? :{:uhoh::zzz:

No chance in South East Asia for a foreigner with a bare 200 hour CPL even if you had an IR.

I have applied to around 15 companies as a low hour pilot and all of them have turned out to be pay to fly which I have denied. The only job for a foreigner as low hour is Susi air apart from cathay there is already a lot of competition.Rumours are Susi is now preferring only people with 500+hours.

If I was you, stay in oz and get a job there.
All Asian countries you need a work permit, you will only get a work permit if a Local can't get a job. Philipines, Malaysia, Indonesia, plenty of locals with basic CPL currently looking for work.
Susi Air you need at 250 TT, and like a previous post said it's very competitive.
My advice to you, is be creative, take a job in aviation company, doing anything , get your foot in the door, begin to network and make contacts.
Good luck.

You'll have better luck if you personally visit the companies and introduced yourself to director of flight operations. It's worked for a few friends of mine in the past, when things were a lot easier for foreigners in some Asian countries. Email applications are usually only successful if a company is actively recruiting and have asked for applications by email. Other than that, they are really a waste of time (both for the company you're bombarding the unsolicited application emails to, and yourself).

Dear Truefaith,

Does caucasian also mean Russian?

And does anybody indeed get onboard with like 235 hours (my case) and a FAA CPL?

Thanx
