New Rating - Lapsed CPL (DGCA)

Hi Guys,

I have a DGCA issued CPL which expired last month (presently I have just a multi engine (PA 34) rating on it).

I have C-152 hours in my logbook but not endorsed in my CPL.
My question is, if I have to renew the CPL on a C-152, will I have to write the technical specific examination for the C-152 before doing the route checks?

Yes you will have to pass the DGCA Tech specific exam for them to endorse on your license
its quite likely that your previous hours on the C152 wont be counted anymore since its been more than 5 years you have flown one

You will need to undergo a total of 7 hours of flying which includes the skill tests

Please get the apply and obtain DGCA admit card approved as well before giving the July attempt

Unless the rules have changed drastically;

A Renewal, within 12 months of expiration, will need just a renewal flight test, a GFT by day & night on PA-34 in your case.

Your best bet would be to go to any Indian flight school who has a PA-34 & a DGCA authorized/designated examiner to conduct a CPL renewal test on a PA-34.

That will be probably the cheapest way & the one with least hassle....

If you try the 152 route, you will need to pass an exam, then endorsement, almost 6-7 hours, which will be almost the same cost as 2 hours on PA-34.

If you go past 12 months, you will need to pass Air Regs paper also.

After 36 months, ALL PAPERS & ALL CHECK RIDES.

And time FLIES FAST..... I can say that from experience..... Time FLIES FAST..
