Everyone obviously is going to have to make their own decisions about what they can can or cannot accept with a contract. I believe what upsideddowninchina and I are trying to convey is that what the contract companies are offering and what is actually happening at the company and online are two completely different things. Those of us who want transparency with the contract and expect to be treated as the contract states are going to be very disappointed. This company will change the contract at will to its benefit and the agencies have no recourse. If I would have known the specifics of the working conditions here, I can vehemently say that I would not have come. I only want to give a more accurate description of what to expect when accepting this position. Those who only want the 787 type and the money and can deal with all the bs then my hats off to you. The job simply is this. You are foreign relief pilot with no real say and no real respect.

Accurate

Hi Cruz.

As I am sure there are a few, pondering accepting this contract.
Can you give some examples of actual breaches of your contract.
I understand training may take longer than the agencies advertise.
But what breaches, contractually have you or others experienced?
Thanks.

Unfortunately reading CruzFo's post the reality of these contract's can often be seen.

You sign a contract with a Contractor who is based in one Country, Maybe your own which is better. You agree to be based in another Country
with A hirer, The Airline.

You are working for the Hirer in another Country. The hirer know's this and can change or try to change what you signed with the contractor.
The Contractor probably has no real power in the other Country you are working.

The Main thing is can you go after the Contractor if there is a problem which is not what you agreed with them. Probably yes but are you willing to spend the Money to do that? Probably They know all this as well.

Agree

Squarecrow,

Agree with you. But that is the same for all of these contracts and even full time jobs. I am sure guys at AA, USAir, Emirates, Korean, Singapore, Cathay et al can all attest to changes to contracts etc that unfortunately is a common theme of airline management.
What I am more interested in, is what specifically has CSA been in breach of contractually? As opposed to say, tardiness in a manager signing a letter for full pay (immensely frustrating yes, contract breach, don't think so) etc.
This is not an attempt to discount any concerns guys have raised, but I am trying to discern between differences in airline corporate/national culture that one may be used to and quantifiable examples of contractual breaches.:ok:

1H loss

Anybody currently at CSA, opinions on 1H loss and impact on CSA's plans and hiring. Full steam ahead or adjustments?

A320 to B777

Dear All,
Currently flying as Captain on A320. There's a chance to apply as NTR B777 to CSA.
Has anyone under similar conditions gone through screening?

Please PM me about your experience.
For those already flying as Captain on B777, I would like to know about rostering, flightdeck ambience, PIC logging time (how does it actually work).

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
G

Kind of an old thread, but are there any guys out there that got the "A designation to full PIC ? How long did it take ? Did the salary increase as well. Some info would be much appreciated. :)

Kind of think you're being waaaay too hopeful, info deigned from a 5 year old Chinese thread....really?

So much has happened in that happy, happy but maybe more importantly - reliable and predictable - part of the airline aviation world!

Cheers.
