Major Indian Airlines which sponsor type rating for freshers ?

Just Imagine you joined India's best flying school IGRUA to obtain CPL with an ambition to be an IndiGo junior co-pilot then by all means you are financially ****kked up because minimum qualification stands at 25 hours ME ( 15 actual + 10 SIM ) and IGRUA would offer you 20 hours ME ( 10 actual + 10 SIM ) So, you have to pay extra to already high fees of IGRUA to complete remaining 5 hours of ME and to top that once you happen to clear IndiGo CASS you have to complete what is called "SELF-SPONSORED" Airbus type rating program. I don't its cost but I think it should stand somewhere around 20 lakhs. So, overall you pay IGRUA FEE + EXTRA (1.5 lakhs) + Type Rating costs = 48-50 lakhs. :ugh:

Isn't there any good Airlines which sponsor type-rating by themselves or if they cut down from salary is also acceptable but 50 lakhs straight up before your first job is undigestable. Say What ?

stop stating the obvious here. Go get a life! thats reality. If you dont want to pay then you can work in the nearest call centre near you.

If you guys really love "aviation" here's a suggestion.... ATCO!!

Salaries are about 80,000₹ and you'd need a B.E. or an M. Sc. degree...

ATCO

HI Vijay Mallaya (never thought I would be saying that ;)),

Please let us know more about ATCO. I have a BE degree and have about 250 hrs with multi/ir. Please let me know how I could apply to them,

Cheers!

@Mentat

Check AAI website frequently , they give add for the recruitment of ATCO.

VijayMallya 16th Jun 2012 17:22

Hello back,

My last visit to the ATC in Delhi still cited shortage of ATCO's

They have a plan to have just four controls over India (delhi, bombay, Calcutta and madras) above FL250

Because of shortage of ATCO's it has only been done for VOMF (Madras FIR) which means for airplanes more direct routing, getting their optimum flight level and done away with Bangalore, Trivandrum, Mangalore and Hyderabad control in VOMF. Which is GREAT!!

Another thing, they aren't able to use all the three runways in Delhi because of shortage of ATCOs...

Like mach5 said, mcheck the website for AAI

Just a heads up..... The curriculum at IGRUA provides for 185 SE + 15 ME flying hours + 10 hr ME Sim.

The ATCO Ads on the AAI website basically ask for a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BTECH) or BSc. but both have to be through regular college.

No provisions for CPL or RTR or anything like that.

They do not accept distance education, which nowadays i think most of the CPL guys have. Well even though they know their RT and have the RTR, still they arn't eligible cuz of the Regular Stream Bachelors requirement.

Many do have a regular BTECH BSc. and should give it a shot next time the ad opens up.

true add the fact that they don't recruit out openly to public.:(

On top of that the minimum requirement is 500 hours. Not just freshers.

bayblade 5th Aug 2012 10:55

hi wxy,
where does it say minimum hrs required 500? in fact they haven't updated their career page since 2006.

vishwas_ddn 5th Aug 2012 11:41

recruitment did happen in 2011 and 2012, with advertisement in 2011 mentioning 500 hours, and multi time preffered, last vacancy was in march april 2012

bayblade 5th Aug 2012 12:32

vishwas_ddn 5th Aug 2012 13:22
