Is MCC course needed for A320 type?

I would like to know if an MCC course is needed when getting an A320 type if the pilot already has several other non airbus type ratings on his license.

Yes, MCC is always a requirement if you want to fly a multi-crew aircraft.

Jerry please dont give information when you dont know the answer yourself.

B18onboost,

Where is your licence issued from? Many states dont have an MCC course, so as such none is required.

If your talking with regards to a JAA licence, or a licence following the JAA rules then you need an MCC course before undertaking your first multi-pilot type.

You indicate you already have several type ratings, for example if you alread have the B737 on your licence then you would not need to do a MCC course prior to the A320 type rating (even of you had never done an MCC at all)

thank you

Thank you so much PT6A. My friend has an FAA license and she's typed rated in learjet and falcon 20 as SIC. So I take it she won't be needing an MCC course when doing an Airbus TR course over Asia then? She's doing her type in Beijing at the Airbus facility.

As far as the FAA go the MCC course does not exist, it all depends on the specifics of the course she is taking and under what authorirty.

But FAA course to endorse a FAa license then MCC does not exist.

Further to my last (I think both of the aircraft she is typed in are MPA) therefor even if they follow European rules, as it is not her first MPA type then no MCC is required.

It might be worth checking at this point that they can actually conduct an FAA approved course, leading to the issue of a type rating on an FAA certificate.
