Air Asia + 200 new A320's = Pilots from where?
 

So...

Where does Air Asia think they'll get the qualified guys to fly their 200 A320 Neo's in the next decade while the looming pilot shortage is just a few years away from a point of both retirements AND controlled growth by every other airline in Asia let alone the Middle East, Europe and US?

if they were willing to remove their 'local' hiring restrictions e.g Malaysian/Thai etc citizens only and age limitations i.e 28 years max for a FO, then that would help for starters!....

they should start cadet programmes, something like etihad does hopefully not something like jetstar or indigo. But I highly doubt that since they are low cost carrier, they would pull something like the latter

They already have their own cadet program,twice a year for the locals!

The JV shall operate through a joint venture company, Asian Aviation Centre of Excellence Sdn. Bhd, equally owned by AirAsia and CAE.

So they will have a comprehensive cadet pilot program.... :ok:

Key issue is pilots must be allowed to come from anywhere. Rates in asia now close to world standards. Its is not just pilots but engineers also................... best to set up school to focus on this>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Lots of flying school grads still unemployed locally...With flying schools still churning out more....

Malaysian Flying Schools Again?
 

Yup...yup...agreed. In fact, there are many schools in unsteady (could be in bad) shape.

1. GGIFA in Bintulu
2. KLIFA in JB
3. IT&S in Ipoh
4. KISTAA in Kuala Terengganu
5. Austral Academy in Sandakan

What do these schools have in common? [place cursor to highlight sentence ->] No wonder they all have same skin colour running the school. That's could be reason! :rolleyes:
