hey what is LR?

harsh786techy 22nd Jun 2011 11:32

All the people who are trying to register :
"Are you all Type rated?"

I am asking this because as far as i know only TR candidates are eligible to apply. If non TR pilots apply they cant fill the *(mandatory) info about A320 hrs and LR and other Type related info. hence, you cant register.

Any Ideas??

@ harsh786techy

:eek::eek::eek:

Are u surprised to know that there are sooo many TR candidates in the market ??

6 months back there used to be a saying for pilots in india...

It goes like... "bheed main agar pathar phekoge to..... seedha pilot ko lagta hai"
If u don't understand hindi i'll translate that..... it means " If u throw a stone in the crowd... its going to hit a PILOT"

Well now days the saying goes like "bheed main agar pathar phekoge to..... seedha TYPE RATED PILOT ko lagta hai" :)

I don't think i need to translate that...... and hope u got the point !!!!

harsh786techy 22nd Jun 2011 19:00

I like the funny part..

Anywaz, i said that because i know a person(not sure if he is "the" one....name is exactly the same) on this forum who is trying to register but, is not Type rated.

So, i know the "Bheed" thing..... i wish i could take that risk with so much money...

I hope Goair gives some chances to Non type rated too...

ilsdme28 23rd Jun 2011 07:17

i don't want to be a party spoiler here but trust me even after type rating they wont take
you , even the internal type rated candidates have been refused
the only thing that works with GO except decent hours are Money and connections......
but i would love to be proven wrong here

vdaff 23rd Jun 2011 11:22

why cant they give chance to fresh cpls

PT6A 23rd Jun 2011 12:04

Vdaff, why should they give a chance?

Why give a chance when they can recruit a ready entry pilot?

PT6A

MTBUR 23rd Jun 2011 13:01

Nah I totally agree. Qantas isn't hiring fresh cpls onto their A380 fleet as left seat throttle jockeys - infuriates me! Why must everyone want experience for an airline job, surely 150hrs in a light single should be enough to handle a heavy jet and all lives in it!!!

vdaff 24th Jun 2011 03:45

@MTBur

GA virtually doesn't exist in India, and turboprops are usually with the airlines. For the Air force you need to have prefect medical and many are already waiting on the line..so there are no other chances for us other than airlines.

For many Indian airline pilots, flying the 320, 737 or even the 777 747s are their first jobs

MTBUR 24th Jun 2011 10:36

So...if that's all there is, why aren't they giving you a chance? Alternatively, if you need the experience and it doesn't exist where you are, why not go somewhere where there is the infrastructure to support GA?

Just putting it out there...

cyrilroy21 24th Jun 2011 18:26

Simple Answer to vdaff's question

Supply and Demand

There are too many A320 type rated pilots sitting at home . Only once this supply runs out will consider someone without type rating.
Type rated candidates can also be released as first officer faster once recruited

:(

spicy 25th Jun 2011 11:52

can anyone tell me what qustions were asked in last assessments?

and when is the next assessment for GA expected??

and if it happens, is it expected to happen in large number??

GA doesn't have any preference on 320 TR schools like indigo has CAE?

@cyrilroy21 .. do you have any idea how many 320 TR pilots sitting home?

cyrilroy21 25th Jun 2011 18:13

Just a rough estimate but dont quote me on it

Lower estimate 100+

Higher estimate 300+

I still think that there are few Kingfisher A320 type rated pilots around who got their type rating after they got their LOI from Kingfisher.

On Another note
Jet Airways last year had given an advertisement for A320 type rated pilots for direct entry onto their A330 fleet
I believe they recruited around 50 of them
