PEACH - ANA's new LCC based in KIX
Hi guys anyone knows anything about the new born ANA low cost company?
I know it s going to be 10 A320 to start with, and based in KIX. Any info of any sort? foreigners will have a shot or is it all japanese pilots? Thanks |
They're hiring right now; though you have to be able to read Japanese on your computer.
Minimums are quite high for a start up LCC; they require 2,000 hours minimum in type or similar transport jet just to be considered for the right seat. Captain minimums are a bit more understandable; same as FO but add 500 hours PIC time. At this time they won't fork out the conversion to JCAB so either you pay (yeah, right?!), or you must already possess one to be considered. It looks like they're just trying to pick at left overs from what JAL let go at this point. Just wonder how they're planning to compete against the other LCC's in Asia (i.e. Air Asia, Jetstar, etc); I doubt anyone with these minimums would be willing to relocate to Japan for peanuts. |

I tried to google various things but can' t find this page where they advertise pilots jobs, maybe you have a link? If i understood correctly 2500 (with 500 PIC) jet transport hrs for a direct entry captain position seems very low to me... I guess if they don' t sponsor you for the JCAB conversion then they probably don't necessarily want gaijin at the minute..that can change of course.. I am very curious to see how the japanese people will react to a LCC, the next few years will be very interesting! It IS in Japanese only at this point, but, having access to someone who speaks the language, I was able to get in. They have scheduled me for an interview (in English). That's all I know at this point. |

I was trying to figure out how Peach was going rid themselves of the ANA mentality; especially because their management team are all ex-ANA folks. Guess I found the answer! Agreed. I'm just interested to see the Ts & Cs Peach is going to offer their pilots. Having Pat Murphy from Ryan, they'd probably have slash salaries. I can already see the day, pilots (expats included) are going to be flipping burgers on their days off, just to make ends meet.

You folks are putting too much stock into the hiring of this individual as an "adviser" this is an ANA run company have no doubt about it, although this will be a LLC it will be customized for the Japanese public and it will have some of the service they are used to, remember that Edo Air and Skymark have been operating successfully in Japan for many years now so this is hardly their first venture into the LLC market, what we are hearing about the salary is that it will be low (typical for an LLC) but it will be competitive within the LLC market since they will have no other choice to be able to attract individuals to this new venture, right now all the guys in training are former JAL pilots but for what i hear they already hired the numbers they were going to hire from that pool and there will be opportunities for ex pats in this gig.

That's not exactly what I was after, I'm just curious to see how this will affect the Japanese airline industry. Me, being from Japan, have always thought change was due to come; lately, that's been happening.
For beginners, the MPL law was enacted and due to come into effect within one year. Then this whole news with Peach. Hey, everyone is entitled to your own opinion; let just see how this develops. You may be right, you may be wrong. |

Not sure about Japan (i.e. Skymarks and Edo) but the salaries in the major western LCC are among the best in the market..so if PEACH is coming as a new adventure trying to emulate the above mentioned then you/we should not underestimate it. Remeber there is almost no more charters left in many European countries taken over by the LCC..This is why i am very interested in seeing what approach will be taken to adapt to the Japanese mentality.:ok: |

The recruitment page is only in japanese at the moment but they promise an english one coming soon! They advertise for cabin crew and mechanics now, didn't really see anything about pilots..but I guess sooner or later that will come too. Start operations max March 2012. I was reading about the ANA and ANA wings strike today (just called off), I don't know the reason. I wonder if there is any link with the new born company? |

looks like they are also recruiting now, only heard about jetstar japan so far..looking at the requirements it doesn't seem too gaijin oriented though..

Hi guys just to let you know there is a pilot recruitment page in english now for Peach.
They require JCAB ATPL and 500 hrs as a capt. with a Japanese airline though..quite strict requirements and seems to me like they are oriented only towards the former AJX captains or similar.. the requirements are wayyy higher than for Jetstar Japan, probably a good sign to be honest. Anyone went for it, is it worth applying without the JCAB ATPL but plenty of A320 time...? |

Anybody has recent information concerning the recruitment process at Peach? I'm going for an interview and sim ride in November for a DEC position. I'm also trying to find some examples of rosters and to find out how it is to work there. Also, where do people based in KIX usually live? I'm planning to go with wife and young kids so I need to find a compromise between not being too far from the airport and not too far from an english speaking kindergarten. did you comply with all the requirements they ask for..JCAB ATPL plus so many hrs experience in a Japanese airline as captain..or did you just apply with a foreign licence and experience and they called you anyway? Thanks |
