the new brand ATR 72-600 IN INDIGO

A (rumor ) concerning a huge ATR 72-600 order by Indigo 20+20 ....plus Airbus A320 type.
A new challenger on the Indian market !!!!!!

cyrilroy21 15th Jun 2011 17:23

Hmmm.......

Indigo already has 100 A320 on order from the 2006 air show of which 39 have been delivered

Then last year they order another 180 A320 the largest aircraft order in history

Why would they want another A320 order ?

Perhaps this time they are confirming the order as the 180 A320 NEO was an MOU only .

The ATR 72 has been in the Indian market for quite some time however the ATR 72-600 will be a new entry

Where did u get this ATR order information from?

Percival 16th Jun 2011 08:52

I've got it from different people working around ATR representative maintenance staff in India.
Wait and see LeBouget Air show Monday 20th June.
So we can expect some huge orders for this money maker soon .......

well, if thats the case , i see indigo becoming a huge fish in asian aviation, great boost to indian aviation,, malya kicked out, Go-Indigo, i wish one day they buy air india and turn its head around. GO GO GO....

One of the ways IndiGo ensures low costs is by using a single aircraft fleet. That means quicker turnarounds, cheaper maintenance, cheaper training, cheaper spares, etc etc - the benefits are huge! Which in turn allows them to stick to their low cost banner.

I really think this ATR order is just another rumour which will never happen. IndiGo will be sticking to a single aircraft fleet for atleast another 15 years till the last A320 of the 280 ordered (100 + 180) is delivered in 2025. Post that they might even go in for wide bodied aircraft - you never know. But till that time, ATRs - highly unlikely.

Like you said, lets wait till the LeBouget Air show on Monday. Will be a real shocker if this happens!!

For once the rumour mill might be true...nevrtheless, a two year delay

I thought the Indian Government was limiting the number of imported aircraft added to private carriers' fleets. I remember reading an article in the Times of India a couple of months back about this issue.

Go Air would also be affected by the imposed limitations.
