Hey folks,

I was going through list of aircraft's accepted by DGCA and I couldn't find the Cessna-152 on that list. Does this mean checks done on a C-152 is no longer valid for licensing purposes in India.

yes according to great DGCA unless you do your flying on an a/c with valid coa they will not endorse it. This stupid rule only exists in India. I wish ICAO would really do something about dgca raping pilots like this.

I know you people are right that cessna 152 is not present in the aircrafts lists, however, there are still cessna 152 aircrafts flying in India with C of A valid. Few academies which fly 152s are Birmi flight academy in patiala and flytech aviation in hyderabad.

I think Yash Air also has c152....

Bombay flying club has one and Aero club of India owns one which is leased to the flight school in Haryana (Karnal/Hissar)

Anyways do your checks on a 172R/S G1000 to be on a safer side.

I am presently through with 100 hours and PPL on a Cessna 152 sitting in Florida and me and all other students are totally clueless as to what has the DGCA done?

How could they just scrap the 152 and 172 off the accepted list, what would happen to those who have gone back to India and people like me who are halfway through their training.

Cessna 152 is approved for flying in India.Majority of the clubs in India are flying Cessna 152.It is the DGCA's fault who has forgot to mention in the list.

cessna 152 is one of most widely produced and used airplane throughout the world. DGCA hasnt mention on list but many flying clubs in india flytech,mfsc
,gfti bhubaneswar are still flying it.

what i have come to know speaking to few CFI some c152 are not certified for IR.so u cant request IR rating on it.

You can do IR Check on Cessna 152.It's cost much less in India as compared to Cessna 172.

No, I am not joking.Is Cessna 152 not approved for IFR training? It is.

In India for doing IR check you need to do familarization on type.You cannot simply go and do the check.172 in India is costing around Rs.12000/hour where as 152 costs around Rs.9000.It is better to do training on Cessna 152.
