EVA Air pay and hiring
 

Looks like it took 25 or so locals to jump ship to China and Vietnam for EVA Air to finally increase pilot pay. Increase in basic pay, monthly guarantee of 75h, overtime pay rate increased over 75h. 13th month based on 75h guarantee not on 50h. Looking to hire almost 200 pilots over the next year. 3 A330 coming, 3 777s. Very short staffed on all fleets. So far expats have been starting on year 4 fo pay. Not too bad all things considered. Still some issues to resolve but it's a start.

Is it 200 pilots required with jet experience? Or is there any chances for fresh CPL holders?

An upgrade is around 10-12 years

Read the three 77W stuck at Boeing will be coming into service in next 2 months or so and EVA also leasing three new A332. They should be needing pilots?

Well, since a lot of experienced pilots went to China...

Do they type new First Officers on the equipment? i realize there is a bond requirement.

Also, can you elaborate on the pay increases that were mentioned above? specifically what is year 4 F/O pay?

Are there are any EVA pilots that can give an update on expat pay for an MD11 FO? Typical FO schedule? Commuting from ORD, LAX to PANC a possibility? Are there commuter seats on-board the cargo birds? I may have an FO screening coming up soon.
