Regarding the DGCA ATPL exams, what are the minimum requirements?

@nikhilheb

ATPL (Airlines Transport Pilots Licence):
The applicant should have:
(a) Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with multi-engine endorsement or a minimum
of 500 hours of flying experience of which at least 200 hours should be as
Pilot in Command in case of Defence Personnel.
(b) Attended the ground training classes with DGCA approved Flying / Ground
Training Institutes or Defence Establishments on the subjects of a category of
license in which the applicant desires to appear.

@ aviator boeing

sheth, surinder and S.K Buti are the best. They r in Delhi. Try e-mailing them and asking whether they are starting any batch or no. They respond to e-mails for sure.

one more thing to add on this guys
you also need an airline certificate
i guess its the certificate from any airline which says that you are working with them
because in april attempt dgca was rejecting many atpl applications by cpl students on basis that they are not from scheduled airlines

in july attempt they did not mentioned the same reason for rejecting applicants

nikhilheb 5th Aug 2010 13:20

Thanks for the answers guys.

So I can't attempt the ATPL exams till I'm employed? That too by a scheduled airline?

avalanche007 5th Aug 2010 13:30

well that really looks odd and there isnt such rule in cars too but then dgca is rejecting applications and stating this reason only

go to dgca site and look for rejected applications for the month of april session

but then in july session they have mentioned incomplete application/no ground school certificate

so they have corrected their fault by printing SCHEDULED AIRLINES for april session

so not necessary you should be employed with scheduled airlines

but yes you wont be able to give atpl exams as my friends who have cleared atpl nav were sitting for another attempt in april and even their application was rejected
so forget fresh ones
