CAAP ATPL Exams

Anyone taken the new CAAP ATPL exams? I was told they would be patterned after the JAA ATPL exams. Since there are no schools in the Philippines offering an ATPL course, mostly likely it would be "own research" to review for the exams. Found Jeppesen's JAA ATPL Test Prep CD online.. any product reviews?

Are there really no local schools offering an ATPL course? That's gotta be a major bummer for many. I'll look into it for you.

When's the new version effective from ?
I did my ATPL exams in Dec. 09 and it was patterned to the ATPL questions from the US exam.

I guess this was decided with the ICAO consultants ?

Does CAAP issue "frozen" ATPL? Can one take the ATPL exams while in the process of earning the needed hours, and the night flying required?

If they do issue a frozen ATPL it isn't available for foreign pilots. To aquire a Chinese ATPL, as a foreigner, you must first get a job offer from a Chinese airline, which usually means you are an experienced Captain (ie have flown on your foreign ATPL for some time)
