EVA to hire 30 contracts F/O's

Eva will be hiring 30 contracts f/o's through a major european agency to counter the exodus. Conditions being offered are 7000 US per month, plus per diems. Good news for the ITalian restaurants in Nankan, as all 30 are x Alitalia. Nice pay deal, they will be getting more than some of the local captains.:D

armchairpilot94116 11th May 2010 21:54

Alitalia helped set up EVA Air back in the day didn't they? But how did they get so many FO ex Alitalia in one go? And did anyone mention to them that if they pay well, they wouldn't have an exodus?

EL CAPITAN 12th May 2010 01:27

I told you guys , I knew this all along. The reason for the CONTRACT hiring is that they need to fill the seats ASAP, then slowly they will hire FOs with lesser experience train them pay them much less and get rid of the Italian FOs which at 7000$ are way too expensive for EVA standards unless they want to stay with lower pay. By the way this has already been done by EVA in the past...............Take care...........The Capt.:ok:

Italians....They wont last with the living standards around Nankang. Besides they are italians !!! Make your bets. In less than a year some will leave.

MD-11 FO's for EVA Air

This is yet another well thought out knee jerk plan from Eva Air that will only serve to accelerate the already alarming speed with which pilots are leaving the company.

Let's not look at increasing the pay for existing pilots, ( straight from PY and Shine at the AGS, so please no more BS rumours about a 25% pay rise, it ain't going to happen.) no let's go out and hire a bunch of contract pilots on better terms and conditions than the guy's who are working for us right now.

Would really love to know what the excellent travel allowance and attractive bonus payments will be that are getting offered to these guy's. I bet it's not a christmas cabbage like we got 2 years ago ( last year we didn't even get the cabbage ). And when i say cabbage, that's not slang for money, we actually got given a F$%K'n cabbage.

Add to this the fact that these contract pilots will be on a flat pay rate regardless of how much they fly, so guess what's going to happen to us loyal eva pilots who rely on overtime to make a livable wage each month. You guessed it, we'll get it in the A@# again! they'll work these guys 100 hrs a month and cut everyone else back to 49.9 hrs a month. You just watch! Thank you Eva you really know how to make a guy feel valued.

Oh well, what can you expect from a company with the track record this one has. Not my problem anymore, when i get back to Taiwan on Friday their going to have one more pilot position on the MD-11 to fill. I'm actually looking forward to resigning from EVA. What does that tell you!

To all you guy's thinking of coming to EVA just remember to BYO lubricant !

Monster out !

To quote from one of the middle east forums seems appropriate here.

That says it all :ugh::ugh::ugh:

Should you not make sure things are what they are rumoured to be before resigning? Unless you have a better gig lined up already of course.

Flying Mechanic 20th May 2010 02:52

it will now be 40, most go MD11, 6 will go 330, to cover shortfull on the 330. Advert in Flight International, all new joiners, enjoy nankantraz, fun times ahead!I enjoyed my time there.

alldaysushi 20th May 2010 19:37

Why are 747 drivers not welcome for the MD11 nontype option.

The 747 was absent in the acceptable command ratings? Just curious.

Thanks...Sushi

No it's not a joke. It does not even reach the level of Joke. But, some dimwits will gladly whore themselves for these wages to fly a heavy. And once more help to drag down the standards for the rest of the industry.
