query regarding --medical standards for short service commission indian air force

Its been a year since the issue of my d.g.c.a license and common sense explains[i know some will wield the stick at wannabes for this:}] why we have had no luck w.r.t employment in airlines and GA alike...:ugh:
coast guard came and went, then came the ssc for transport category in march this year..

finally have smelt the coffee, realized have to set new goals and think out of the box ..

just got the mark sheet for my second year graduation (makes me eligible for ssc)
and got a quick and accurate assessment of my eye sight done.. its not a perfect 6/6 but can be cured since the myopia is cylindrical and doctor attributes it to mild muscle weakness which can be rectified with ample exercise and b complex rich diet

now right to the point..
until now i had an impression that i was not medically fit for coast guard or air force courtesy my eyesight but the recent eye assessment had given me a good morale boost.. started gathering material and information required for the same
but.. while browsing through the medical standards set out by the air force might i got a jolt .. realized i might be having a mild case of "knock knees" or Genu Valgum
Instead of passing the verdict quickly I thought its better I check up with an ortho soon. will be visiting him tomorrow with a print out of medical standards required in the services and get a thorough check up done.

Now the deal is after a long time ive started to regain optimism and vigor vis vis aviation and have pinned high hopes on the ssc selections that are due in september later this year
before i tread further i thought its better i get to know of a certain medical imperfection if any my body might have , not that a civil doctor would have a final authority on it but a full body assessment of areas ranging from dental to ortho would make the writing on the wall clearer.

my query to the more experienced would be ...
is it the right way to proceed?? [to assess one's chances at the medical beforehand] my class 1 intial for dgca was at afcme jorhat ..
those who have been through it at such establishments [delhi ,bangalore centres] would know it is a detailed enough test by civil standards and i breezed through it ..
that is a bit comforting though
i know i sound a bit pessimistic but i feel the dgca medicals are superficial as compared to the air force ...and they don't guarantee a success with the air force medical

I know this could be a wrong bent of mind to start with:=, but past 1 year has been really dismal for us [ cpl holders] and now that i have short listed the upcoming air force exam in sep-oct as my next target, apprehensions do arise regarding medical incompetencies if any.

those who are in the air force (flying branch) please contribute:)

edit- didn't get a call from cae indigo.

dont loose heart tushar. i know u would have done extensive research on
the medical requirements of the IAF- but i am giving u this link below- u
may have seen it before though. i dont see any mention of "knock knees".
it may have been a disqualification once upon a time- may not be now -just as they have gone a bit easy on lasik surgery. in any case, this shouldnt
stop u from applying. let THEM say u are unfit. Indian Air Force : Career Opportunities

cheers

hmm.. i see what u mean tushar. 'knock knees' could be a problem.
but as i said, maybe yours is a borderline case. let THEM say u are
unfit.

in the meantime, are you guys looking at africa for jobs ?
the african aviation forum still appears to be alive- for lowtime guys.
