Ground Instructor or TRI

Hello to everybody :

I am new in this forum , I am pilot and i had a interview two days ago about one job in CHINA like a GROUND Instructor . I dont know nothing about CAAC. I have currently JAR license ATPL frozen with 160 hours right now.

The place where I'm going to job , only can get TR of A320 , B777,B737 and ERJ 145. So my question is :

I am TRI ? or only a instructor of ground like they said ???

Hi Xinhuei

I probably know which job you are on about (its based southern china). The vaccancy is for a "Ground School" instructor only, you don't know what you will be teaching as of yet, as they are going to pass the people from universities who have a lower grade to the school instead of sending them abroad. So you may have to teach ab-intio aswell. But the good side is aswell is that you migt be doing some ground school for specific types on top. This is due to company needs anyway. They said there was prospect for license conversion, but I guess this is a long term target if your hoping to work for them.

P.S. You heard anything back from them yet?.
