Hey mate just try the following link from the DGCA,INDIA website....

http://dgca.nic.in/licencing/conversion.pdf

For RTR:

The holders of Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and Flight Engineers License (FEL) from all Commonwealth countries and Philippines will be considered for issue of Indian Radio Telephony Permits directly in lieu of their foreign Flight Radio Telephony Licenses (FRTOLs) provided their FRTOLs are issued from the same Administration from where their Flight Crew Licenses (CPL/ATPL/FEL) have been issued.

If you still need to ask anything, feel free to ask....:ok:

A good bottle of whiskey and a DGCA connection always gets the job.

1) Firstly you need to apply for the Computer number.(apply for it ASAP)

2) Then you need to apply to sit in the exam.(this depends when you want to sit for the exam). Application form

For the exams you can do self study or enrol to a ground school.
List of ground school is here. (In that thread you can find all the other info. as well.)(I would prefer Surinder singh, as some of my friends said that he is really good and is getting good results)

You also need to convert your JAA FRTO to Indian. Application form(If its commonwealth country). Otherwise you need to give exam for that.

(This conversion will give you the Indian RTR, you need to apply to DGCA after getting your RTR to get the INDIAN FRTO)

After getting all this, you can submit your documents as said in the conversion form.:ok:
