1 question for Asiana from A320 pal/cebu Capts
Mnl basing is so enticing. Here is the question me and my friends are asking. Is there any chance or possibility for upgrade to widebody after a number of years of service? Can't wait to move out of here! Let us know ASAP !

just a thought nona: be based in manila and both pal and cebupac can screw us! ever imagined the drama they create with immigration and all the other offices? money talks right?
my thought is, would be better to be away while the legal wrangling is going on. ever thought about a flight being delayed because both or any of the two companies exerted influence over immigration? asiana would hate that.... |
Manila Basing & Upgrade to Widebody
With regard to MNL basing (satellite), it will be effective on May 1 (Labor Day) or simply saying that "it is as fast as your eyes can wink". ASIANA is bringing your work in front of your Home & Family the World Class Way. This is in addition to the new package effective as of January 1.
Regarding upgrade, there is no definite time but it is possible. One pilot who was an ex-PAF/PAL who started as a B737 Captain is now a B777 Captain. There are other Expats who were given the same treatment but I am more particular on Filipinos. Regarding Threat or Intimidation by PAL and CEBPAC management for soon-to-be or current ASIANA pilots as stated by pack1, it has a very serious implication on diplomatic relationship. Aside from Expat pilots, there are many Filipinos working in South Korea right now which has a strong economy. South Korea and the Philippines has a deeply rooted relationship that started during the Korean Wars in the 50's of which our forefathers participated to include our former President, a West Point graduate. In simple words, if the two Airline companies will attempt to harass ASIANA pilots by means of influence thru Immigration or other Gov't. agency that will delay or cancel the flight, ASIANA can do the same with a far more devastating result. Examples: 1. PAL and CEBPAC can no longer do bussiness in South Korea, a very lucrative destination in FE Asia. 2. Stopping issuance of Visa to would-be OFWs, this has happened recently with a positive result in the Bureau of Immigration (somebody was sacked). 3. Deportation of OFWs who are bringing millions of dollars to the Philippine economy. 4. And many more...(Mindanao Bananas to be exported somewhere)...etc... Just the thought of it is an insult to one's intelligence particularly to CEBPAC management who have been fair to their former pilots (expats) taking into consideration those who opted to return for whatever reasons. PAL is a very different entity that can not be compared with CEBPAC in terms of Professionalism. An Airline that treat its pilot well will receive the same token of respect. The opposite is with a magnitude of vengeance. So if you see your former pilot in front of your offices at the airport together with his entire crew in a brown unifrom, just smile at him and be happy with the thought that he is a WORLD CLASS that help the Philippine Economy Grow G R E A T L Y ! ! ! :) :) :) My Peace! |

Woopps~
Sorry for Interrupt.
But Is there any guys who really really worked for asiana here? Do you know how long they took for an upgrade from 737 to 777? and how many guys among the total who moved in asiana more than 10 years ago? Is there any body know real working condition in Asiana? Manila Base? Really? Can you trust them? I'm not sure .... maybe they can change the policy......but...Hmm Well...... I wish it is not another misinterpretation of 8 consecutive days off in a month. Not actual MNL base. and at last, Have you ever heard how do they treat Filipino in Korea? If you want.....It is your choice. But ...Hmm......There are better deals in china or india. |
