Heard from a bunch of sim instructors out in MIA, the Indigo is looking for as many pilots they can. Does any one have info for HR to send a CV. Clicked on the links on the site and got forwarded to a CAE site.

What I've heard from a few people in Miami is that you have to fork over 30.000 US for your type plus housing during the typetraining. Be aware!!!!! Alot of cash for a type. If you pay give me a call, I have some seaside property for sale in Arizona.

that's only for local Indians AIRJAE. Expats need to have at least 1000tt with the A320 type. Check your pm.

Is that all they require - A320 TR. Don't they need at least 100 hours on type as well to qualify as F/O ?

From what I've been told, SimCenter has a new program associated with IndiGO, on completion u'll be offered a 12 month contract and there is no minimum flight hours requirement.

Anyone else have more information???

Yeah, but if you are an expat, you need at least 1,000 hrs total and if you're TT is below 2,000 hrs you need to do the Jet Intro Course and Glass Cockpit Technology on top of the type rating. Total = 33,000 USD not to mention license conversions, airfare to U.S. and India, then accomodation, etc.

Wow !!!!........ anyone got a spare 33,000 USD that I can borrow ?

:ok: Simcenter has a contract with Indigo and deccan. Right now if you are an expat and have less than 250hrs tt, then you have to go through all the jet intro, glass cockpit trans. If you have 1000tt and an A320 type, then you can get through to Indigo. All the 250hr guys, fly a lot and get upto 1000tt, so you can get in directly. Have at least 100 multi, that will help too.

I did my 320 type with Simcenter, was suppose to go out to Deccan, but got FWD an email from simcenter, in which Air Deccan said they weren't to happy with the quality of the FOs and canceled the deal. Heard the Indigo rumor that it is 12 mo contract and will be taking FOs with no time on type. We'll see.

It is going to cost you a lot of cash. Make sure you get at least something on paper from simcenter. Once again, be aware!!!!!

Security clearance estimate @ 45 days. However, it might take anywhere between 1 to 3 month. I've heard a few had their clearance granted at 6 month. Visa takes around 10 days to issue once you're cleared by the DGCA.

Does anyone know which recruiter SimCenter use for their IndiGO contract?

wow that's alot of money wasted, i mean how many went through programs offered by simcenter, and are actually now working with an airline, man 33000$ you haven't eaten yet nor paid rent, i would say the whole program would end up costing you 40000$ easy, and yet you are not garanteed anything.

Take n8pilot for instance he paid for hid tr but got nothing at the end, how long will they make you wait before they will come with an offer and when they do you would have waited 2 long that now you are not current on the aircraft, you have to get checked out again and pay more money.

It's extremely risky... You're dealing with Indian carriers (and type rating providers who above all want your $$$)... so you're really taking a big roll of the dice.

If you're a millionaire, losing $40,000 is nothing. Who cares.

But if you have to burrow that $40,000 that's a very different story.

It's a real crap shoot.

General rule of thumb is to never risk more than you can afford to loose.

Let's get one thing straight and you have to realize this.
It doesn't matter where you get your type rating, be it SimCenter, Pan Am, CAE, Eagle Jet or Timbuktoo poodle flight center, it all comes down to your experience, qualification, performance in the flight test and interview that will determine your marketability.

These organisations are NOT the airline's aviation school. There is no way they can guarantee your employment so get that through your head to avoid disappointment. They can ONLY RECOMMEND YOU and the rest is up to you.
If that means you have priority is subject to the airline's interpretation and preference.

From what I've read in the website, it doesn't specify that you have to be with any one particular TRTO except they had a preferred one called CAE.
However, it doesn't mean that they will exclusively hire from them only.
Otherwise they will be filled with green (inexperienced) First Officers.

Airlines tend to hire from a wide cross-section of applicants from different backgrounds to alleviate the pressure on wages as long as you have what they need.

Trying to link them to the airlines is totally useless. Ring the airline directly and ask them if you can be considered to apply if you have an A320 TR then get it from the horse's mouth. This is the safest option as the TRTOs will not decide for the the airline who gets hired eventually. They can only pass or fail you in your training.

The fact that even if Indigo says that they will hire only from SimCenter or CAE, don't be fooled into thinking that just because they have an agreement with the airline to hire graduates doesn't necessarily mean that the airline will hire every single candidate. As I've said at the outset, it all comes down to you how you perform during crunch time.

Only people on airline cadet schemes can safely say that they are the airline's priority but even that is no guarantee that a right seat job is waiting for them at the end of it. Going through these TRTO doesn't mean you are one.

Go and submit your application and see what they say. How are you suppose to know that their quota of pilots has not already been filled by pilots with 500+ hours on A320s already ? And here you are spending money on a type rating that might never be used.

If anyone has seen what I've written - at least 1,000 hrs total time and even at that you will be spending 33k.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this to discourage anyone but to save you from a possible disappointment and worse a huge loan with no job.

well ive emailed indigo to get some info, that was 4 days ago i have not heard back from them yet.

one thing for sure nothing is guaranteed in this business, if you do get a type rating it would be a risk, that's what life is all about taking risks.

As I said before, if you're rich, why not.

But if you have to borrow the money to do it, it's very risky.

The problem is that you're holding the bag... the airline has no leverage in you.

So if they change their mind or change their plans (that happens all the time), they can just say 'sorry, things have changed', and you're left holding the bag.

If it was a bond situation, it would be okay because the airline would have something invested in you... but this is not that kind of situation.
