Expat Captain DGCA Interview
I understand that one hired by an airline in India as PIC you have to "interview" with a board at the DGCA. Has anyone gone through the process recently? What does it involve? What questions are normally asked? Are they airplane specific or just general knowledge?

1st theyll take you to delhi to meet the chief of DGCA
be prepared............its very ugly, old, and smelly dont use the toilets there, go light from the hotel most likely someone of the airline by this time would have told you already what to expect & what to answer plain simple, duty time, flight time, max hours, days, monsoon and for sure fuel policy (trip, reserve, blablabla) not more than 5 minutes for sure than later not more than 3 months after that youll have t go back to take the practical test, again, everybody over india has a copy of the questions, youll just memorize that, done in 15 minutes no big deal c ya |
It is creepy!!!
DGCA is creepy. Not many aviators there, as I am told. The present Minister of Civil Avaition, Praful Patel, is trying to shake up the org there. But bureaucracy is so badly entrenched there that it will take us a couple of years more, is what I am told.
Too bad for Indian aviation. Cheers vgk1945 |
