Thailand airliners for charter

Hi everybody,

I need some update on the situation in Thailand regarding the airline companys, a few questions

1, How is Orient Thai doing and did they change the old 747 to newer?
2, Did Phuket Airs get back their AOC
3, Does ThaiSky fly 747?
4. Any new companys arised?
5, Whick companys fly charter to Europe
6, Which companys hold 757 or 767 in Thailand

I am looking to charter from one of this companys and i am really grateful about all information you have

Bangkokeasy 22nd Mar 2007 08:49

Hi - I can answer some as follows:

1) Orient Thai now trading as 1-2-go
http://www.fly12go.com/en/about_us/fleet_info.shtml

2) I wouldn't touch Phuket Air with a bargepole. While they had those problems in Europe, they were in total denial about the whole thing. Not even sure they are still flying. Haven't seen one of their birds around for a while. Last I saw, there were a few of them laid up at Uthapao.

3) No, L1011 Tristar.

4) Nok Air (loco subsidiary of TG - 737s and ATR), Thai Air Asia, (linked to Air Asia, but run seperately - 737s), PB Air (Embraer ERJ), Bangkok Airways (B717, A320)

5) 1-2-go have chartered to Europe.

6) 1-2-go has one 757. Nobody I know uses 767 around here. Nearest ones I know would be some of the Chinese carriers.

PB

Doesn't PB Air still operate a 767??

Bangkokeasy 22nd Mar 2007 09:08

Wikepedia show them as having one, but it's not on PB's website and I've never seen it on the ground.

BAEGJJ 22nd Mar 2007 11:03

It was certainly there in the summer last year, HS-PBH, although i believe it was operating for Air Zimbabwe and Royal Nepal on an ACMI basis..

Airfleets.net now shows it operating for Viva Macau, so its history i guess, although i'm not sure if its been sold or is leased :8

WHBM 22nd Mar 2007 11:10

PB did have a 767 HS-PBH in 2005-6 but it was always operated out on lease to a variety of carriers - Air Nepal, Air Zimbabwe and Viva Macau. The latter subsequently bought it and now operates the aircraft from Macau to Jakarta and the Maldives.

I believe Thai Sky were using a Phuket 747 but it never happened really. Thai sky I also believe lost there AOC?

Gonzola 24th Mar 2007 16:24

Thanks guys for all the information,

We have used Udom and Orient Thai before but there was a lot of problems with the aircrafts and timeschedule. I dont know if they have updatetd the fleet since many of the 747 was from the 70- ties.

Is there any other similar companys in neighbouring countries like singapore or Malaysia

b747heavy 7th Apr 2007 14:11

Gonzola,

Udom has some new aircraft (at least new in his fleet), but they are old birds from JAL. The 757 is now gone....only MD82's left. The youngest aircraft in his fleet is an ex KLM 747-306, circa 1982 or thereabouts. Were you by any chance involved in the series of charters Orient Thai did from Stockholm, Copenhagen or Billund back to Bangkok/Phuket?

Cheers,

B747heavy :ok:

767 in Thailand

SkyStar Airways is starting up this month, in theory. A joint Thai/Korean company who was to start Oct 1, 2006 but ran into some logistical problems with the coup and Thai investors in Sept 06.

Training crews in April/May and should be operational in a few months.

Gonzola, please check your PM. :ok:

Try Globejet for an ACMI lease. L1011-500s. Good clean aircraft and reliable crews. Recently doing a ACMI for Loydd Aeroleanas Bolivia - Santa Cruz to Madrid. Local politics and LAB financial wows curtailed the gig.
How do I know??? Flew for them for a while.

Funny

The funny thing is that i had a meeting with one of the owners in Greece where they was supposed to be based a few years ago before they moved to Canada. It was a Lebanese/Canadian guy and i recieved a proposal agreement regarding charter in Europe but since then i never heard from them and i thought they never get started.

Question

Is there any 767 or similar for lease in Europe for charter operations to Thailand

Gonzola 18th Jun 2007 10:03

We are looking for charter series between Scandinavia and Thailand

South Africa is another continent but maybe there is an interest for direct flights between cape town and Sweden, not sure if its exists today.

How many hours flight is Stockholm - Capetown?

ozthai 19th Nov 2009 14:35

Skystar to start again ????? I doubt it.
Does that mean all the monies owed to crews in the past will be paid ?
These guys ran away owing heaps and left behind them nothing but lies and broken promises.

Phuket Air has wet leased 2 B747-300's to Saudi Air for the Hajj.

Cheers.

Do your parents know you are using their computer to make idiot pilots think you are a charter broker?

Gonzola 19th Nov 2009 16:56

Tell your parents who are cousins that inbreeding is never a good thing and that they should learn you to read properly before you write stupid thing on forums, we are not a broker and we have never said that we acted as one.

We are a travel agency looking to sign contract for charter series to Thailand.

XanaduX 20th Nov 2009 19:56

The obvious choice is Orient Thai!! Good luck!! :E

Orient-Thai Airlines. international chartered flights around the world.

Gonzola 20th Nov 2009 21:20

We used Orient Thai Airline back in 2005 for one season but there was a lot of problems bothe with dealys and old planes.

I have not been in contact with Udom for a while and maybe they have updated their fleet as they could not fly on EU countries with the old ones due to security reasons.

How are they doing this days after the accident in Phuket?

Gonzola 24th Nov 2009 10:52

B747 Heavy

Yes we was involved in those series from Stockholm, it was a good business idea but unfortunately we experienced the Tsunami just after the third flight and recieved a lot of cancellations on a series that was sold out and as it counted as force majeure we had to pay back all to the passengers.

Then we had the problems with Orient Thai with old aircrafts that they was not supposed to use on the series and also fuel stops in Pakistan. The staff was really unfriendly and a lot of delays so this was a lot of problems for us.

After that we have been trying to use Phuket Air but they were to expensive and also lately Krabi Air who never took off. Seems difficult to find an airline in that area who can and are willing to fly charter series from EU.

Maybe the profit is better by trafficking mainland China and Korea, atleast there are more people and shorter flights

Prozac

I asked a simple question and then i recieve some stupid answers from a first time poster as you, whats your problem? go and get laid or something if you cant find a job as a flying waitress:ugh:
