China Airlines 747 FO training: how long does it take?

Could someone tell me how long it takes to get 747 type rating with China Airlines (or whatever airline who has 747). And after that, how long is actual line training? Can one go home (in the States) during those periods?

Thanks!!

4 weeks ground school, 3 weeks sim and approximately 1 month IOE. Before IOE you get 21 days off waiting for your ATPL.

what do you mean by spending 21 days waitting for your ATPL?

Where do CAL do sim training for 747, 737, a330/340?

It will take that long for the CAA to process your ATPL; no ATPL= no flying. comprende?
