First Officer Salaries in India
Given the number of people looking at getting first officer positions with the different airlines, I thought it wise to start this thread to shed some light on how much a first officer can expect to make on joining an airline in India. So if you have BONAFIDE salary figures, please share them. I am sure a lot will appreciate your feedback.
In case you have captains figures, feel free to throw those in as well. 1. Air India...... 2. Indian Airlines..... 3. Jet Airways...... 4. Sahara.... etc...you get the idea! P.S. You could provide a range of figures (example: ABC Airlines Rs. 50000 to Rs 65000 per month) to account for variations in flight hour pay on top of the basic monthly income if you want. Also, I understand that FO positions are for Indian Nationals. Cheers Aero |
That's correct, F/O positions are for Indian Nationals ONLY... unless something dramatic happens and temporary contract jobs are opened up for expat F/O with minimum 500 hours on type (keep a look out for that... tho it is highly unlikely, strange things DO happen).
Otherwise : Must be an Indian national and have an Indian licence. Fixed/assured salaries listed below (overtime is over and above these figures). All figures are Gross Monthly Salaries. Tax is approx 26-30% of these figures. Jet Airways 737 F/O : ~Rs.1,90,000 737 Captain : ~Rs3,50,000 ATR72 F/O : ~Rs.1,45,000 ATR72 Captain : ~Rs.2,60,000 - Rs.3,50,000 (overtime paid after 75 hours/month) Kingfisher Airlines A320 F/O : ~Rs.1,15,000 (F/O) and Rs.1,95,000 (Senior F/O). A320 Captain : ~Rs.3,30,000 (overtime paid after 70 hours/month) Will add more figures if I hear of any more. Others, feel free to add... :ok: |
Thanks for your input 9Ws. Very much appreciated!
Please check your PM's |
Are those salary figures (especially for FO's) based on a new pilot getting hired on as a first officer and getting paid a monthly salary right after finishing his or her type rating with the company OR are those figures representive of salaries after your "training period"? If it is after the training period, then how long do training periods usually last and what does one get paid during the training period?
Also, what are the flying/work schedules (days on/days off) like for FO's? How many days off can one reasonably expect a month? aero |
