Drug Use by Pilot at Training Complex

I recently received a phone call from a buddie at a prominent high profile Asian Airline wherein he "rumoured" that a pilot was found using heroin in the Company Simulator training complex. He further "rumoured" that because the individual pilot was well connexted, there has been an aggressive coverup of the facts about this "rumoured" incident, so as not to bring about a loss of face for many people. The rumour goes that because of his race, background, and connextions there will be no punishment let alone full investigation.

If this is in fact true, it just goes to show how corrupt the management of this airline is, and it is a total disgrace that they hadn't even identified the problem earlier. Why? Because they choose to ignore or coverup their "own" corrupt practises. It goes to show that random drug testing has a place in our industry and it's about time it was applied here at this airline. If they stopped the nepotism and cronyism and cast the net out wide they would get the few rotten fish that need to be taken out. How about it? Any comments?

Some view random drug testing as an infrigment on personally liberty, I am of the opinion that if you work in this industry you must subject yourself to it, in order to protect the rights of the travelling public. How do you feel about having a junkie at the controls of your aircraft, with you family. Bugger the individuals rights, protect the rights of the travelling public. But the bigger shame, is a company that covers this up!

I think that the vast majority of us will support Bob Hawke's view, however, please, no naming names of either individuals or airlines that you may suspect!

Many thanks.

Wayan, tidak betul! It's for real, unfortunately.

Drug related offences in the country are very serious and thus "Mati mandatori." This character needs to be exposed, and so does the airline.

i am sure we all agree that the character must be exposed. BUT i do not think pprune should be the platform.
