I told you ToPoChi has it!! See the difference between ToPoChi and Deo? Perhaps his approach towards the HR staff earned him the 'respect' to be kept informed. Good for you ToPoChi, You make MAS proud. Check your PM, ToPoChi.

That's the problem. everybody is looking after their own interest and not worried about others. so can you blame the leaders or the management for furthering their own interests?. can you imagine what the crm is like in the cockpit of some of the posters? so much for team work or unity is strength and all that!

Hello people!! I heard from someone saying that to apply for cadet pilot, after we failed our first application,we would have to wait for 1 year before applying again. Is that true?Can anybody give help me?
Also has anybody been called up for the psychomotor test recently?I sent in my application when I saw on the vacancy section through the net almost 2 months ago.Till now the vacancy is still on.So I just want to know if I have to wait till the vacancy is over or that I am not entitled to be called up for the psychomotor test since the last time I went for the psychomotor test was about 4 months ago.

You need not have to wait for a whole year mate!!! MAS have just advertised for FEMALE Cadet Pilots......The Star / 11June 2005. Apply/chop/ wait to heal/ attend the interview..........

Well ...

... arguments about loyalty and gratefulness and what not aside, I got a call from HR about 5 minutes ago asking me to come in for an interview at 9.30am tomorrow.

Happiness like sugar coated strawberries ... except that I won't be able to attend. If it was just a routine work day I'd easily take leave/fake-MC it, but it's something I cannot avoid at all.

Unfortunately for me (maybe fortunately for you, if you're trying to apply too, haha), MAS HR was unsymphatetic and said "oh this is urgent, so if you can't come tomorrow I'll bump you to the next intake."

Which sounded to me like "thank you, try again next time!"

Hey Deo,

sorry for being late of my 5 cents worth. Haven't been on the prune for quite a while since I've joined MAS. To be honest with you, it is very upsetting for applicants if the HR department actually behaves as what you have mentioned. To be honest with you, I know quite a number of people in the HR department personally and I have to say that they are very nice and friendly people. They were helpfull and gave me plenty of assistance. Even when I needed help with Flight Operations, the HR Department gave in a helping hand. Maybe you might have met one of the odd staffs which I have not met yet (at the moment).

For my word of advice, maybe you should not just judge the entire HR department of their behaviour. Give it some time and keeping our finger's crossed, once you've join MAS you'll find that almost everything is enjoyable and everyone's friendly. Except maybe one or two Captains have lack of sense of humour :}

Wishing you all the best and hope to fly with you someday.

PS: Have you attended the interview yet?

Lanun,

I have to agree with you buddy!! I am not in MAS or anything ...just an applicant . I called them up several times asking some questions with regards to the application and they seemed friendly enough especially one of the chaps i spoke to!!
To be honest, well before..from reading the forums here about MAS personnel i thought that it was gonna be a highly unpleasant phone convo but it turned out to be a very helpful and informative one.. so Cheers to u guys at the dept!!
just my 2 cents!!
But then agian it could have just been my lucky day to....

Safe flying to u all!!!

Hello there all,
i don't know about other ppl who had some unpleasant journey with MAS hr, but for me personally after attending the physo and MISPA, i can say that they are bunch of nice ppl. Perhaps, you called them during bad time. Because seriously, some ppl have their limits, work stress, stupid questions fr ppl who called. anyways what i want to stress out is this, never give up.. and just don't be an angry person, it ain't good for your health mate ;)
be optimistic

good day all

Just want to know something about my recent MAS cadet pilot application.I sent in 2 applications during may and august.but i still have not gotten any replies to go for the psychomotor test while i m hearing many news about many ppl going to attend theirs.i went for my first psychomotor test on feb and failed it.is this affecting my application and that is why i m not being called for the psychomotor tests that are happening now?

CAT IIIB 8th Aug 2005 14:53

Relax,maybe the HR guys want to clear the backlog applications first-first time applicants(you had your chance).

And there may be a 'cooling off' period after you do not make it on the 1st attempt.

That is my guess.

My advice regarding the psychomotor tests,actually nobody can help you here ,just remember some basic rules;

1)Read the instructions and observe the demo carefully,
2)Understand what you are supposed to do,
3)Don't rush to start,take a few minutes to practice and program it it in your mind before you begin.

That is all,Good Luck!

cyyap3 9th Aug 2005 10:00

Thanks for the advice and luck!!!!will be patiently waiting for my chance to attend the psychomotor while i study hard to maybe finish my mechanical engineering degree.
