Shenzhen Airlines = NIGHTMARE
 

ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT HAVING SHENZHEN AIRLINES? FORGET IT! YOU CAN FIND BETTER COMPANY THAN THIS. THE SALARY IS UNDER THE AVERAGE OF MARKET, ONLY US$ 3,000 F/O AND US$ 6,500 CPT AND THE CHINESE PILOTS (ESPECIALLY COPILOTS) ARE TRYING TO KICK THE BIGGEST NUMBER OF FOREIGNERS OUT OF THE COMPANY. AS CAPITAN WILL HAVE TO PERFORM INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT RECEIVING ANY EXTRA AND FACING SOME SCARE SITUATIONS DURING FLIGHTS WITH THEIR F/OS. AS F/O (OHH MY GOD!) YOU ARE IN TROUBLE! IF YOU EXPECT TO BE A CAPITAN ONE DAY, IT´S NOT THE RIGHT PLACE. YOU FLY 20 (B) BLOCK HOURS (/B) PER MONTH! HORRIBLE.
THINK TWICE NEXT TIME WHEN YOU STARDED TO FILL AN APPLICATION TO SZA.

But 6500USD for 20BH...in China!!! Seems to be the good figure! I am agree to cope with the stupiest F/O in the whole world for such a lot of money. Aren't you? Why?

Yes, I did apply, no reason to deny it. That's why I want to grasp what's going on there in reality. Unfortunately, I can not extract any reasonable information from your post. Would you be more exact?

You want to fly with stupid FO's for that sort of money, sounds like you are the man for the job, moreso with that kind of thinking you should be able to increase the STUPIDITY in the airline you leave and this one you join. If you are prepared to work for that kinda money, then it's no doubt you belong there.

Get a reality check on pay standards before you sell yourself out. Maybe it's not the stupid FO's, but the stupid Captains that might apply to fly there at those rates.

By the way US$ 6500 isn`t a bad salary in China if you are Chinese but the poor Chinese aren`t getting that salary.... so dont expect much else when you are taking home 4 times the amount they are.....:zzz: :zzz:

I apreciate your info, dear colleagues, althought it contains little more emotions than real facts. I'd like to know - all published hereabove- is this from your own experience? How long did you work in Shenzhen? How many expats work there presentely? And I do not doubt my mental ability, to be more exact, the lack of it. There is old saying in my motherland - wise and smart man never makes a pilot.

Guys, If you go through contract agencies i.e contractair, you would be offered 9500us with Shenzen! which in turn offers the stability of sick pay etc. I'm sure there would be resentment from lower paid colleagues but that's only expected! but to risk your reputation (not to mention life) for 6500! You cannot be serious!

There is is a liitle difference in figures - 6500, 9500 etc. I've been offered by circa 8000, but it doesn't realy matter. The matter is the the company morale, generally speaking. Telling you the truth, I've been working in different companies, who pay different sums for expats and lokals, and it never ever affects our mutual cooperation. Would be very nice to hear someone from inside of Shenzhen, like we hear from EK or QR. That's a real fun and lot of info!

6500 US for a Captain is absolute garbage be it in China or elsewhere.

Below clouds has no idea what the market wants, and is prepared to accept anything out there. It's crappy pay for crappy conditions. Forget it!! Go somewhere decent, they will get what they pay for.

I'm stupid as well, but we are talking about the monthly salary aren't we?
because if it is...it ain bad, and remember the standard of living in China means that you could live like a king for that amount.
Doesn't SQ pay a lot less??

whenever i read a topic like this ..with all the emotional chest-beating answers "$6500 for captain is garbage"..i can't help but wonder what would you guys think if i tell you in my part of the world (just 850nm from hkg i must add)..Dc-9 captains are paid us$1300..for 757 captains:$2,250...i won't tell you how much f/o's get..too embarrasing.
