Air Macau
Hi all,
I've got a friend who's asked me to request as much information as possible about Air Macau.
He's applying as a non type rated FO and has no idea what to expect, there isn't a lot of information on the web about the process and lifestyle in Macau either.

- What's the salary for NTR FOs?
- What's the housing allowance?
- What's the transport allowance?
- How does the per diem and incentive pay work?
- Where to find accommodation? (Is it like Hong Kong where you have to visit realtors?)
- Expenses per head (For transport, groceries etc.)?
- How does the interview process work, what materials must be used?
- Best areas to live?
- What to look out for living in Macau?
- What's the lifestyle life on the salary package?
Most of your questions are easily answered with a little research.
People coming on here and wanting answers given to them with no effort is getting tiresome.

I've read through that thread already and sent it on to my friend. I'm trying to get as up to date information as possible. The above link has valuable information from begging of 2018 to the end of 2018.

That is incorrect. Many expats still remain. The issue is that they cannot leave as they have the blue card which makes a return impossible. There is also no sim in Macau so they are unable to remain current.

Yes they have kept their jobs. They are using that A320 trainer that I believe one of the pilots built a few years back. As far as I am aware several were fired as they had not been studying/keeping up skills when tested but otherwise they are still in their jobs.

Many foreigners are on unpaid leave in their home countries since Macau does not allow foreigners to enter (regardless of vaccine, quarantine or anything else), some were dismissed, some are still employees, but there is no expected time to return. Those who are in Macau can not go home on vacation or won't come back, also, many sent their families home at the beginning of pandemic and still can not reunite. In general, expats are very unhappy at the moment in Macau (all the expats in the city, not only pilots).
The company itself is surviving, they signed a wet lease contract with Air China and we've been sent to Mainland and staying around 4 weeks, but flying 1 or 2 times a week max as most of the flights get canceled. When back to Macau we assume normal roster, but there are not many flights here also, due to 0 cases policy, we've been submitted to daily covid tests, otherwise can not fly. Been hearing ppl saying that will get their money and leave at the end of the current contract.
