Kingfisher went bust as well, though for different reasons. Stand by for grounded aircraft, stranded passengers and creditors moving in. Air India would be in the same boat if it wasn’t being continually bailed out by the government.

You cannot have low cost in such a high cost aviation country...... The price wars are killing every brand that was built from Airplanes to Restaurants to Cell phones........ Cheap just does not work & yet the discounting continues, There will be a blood bath across sectors once they realise that discounting In India does not gain loyalty & following....

Friend whos info I respect said caught up with some leasing company dudes when doing an aircraft pickup/ferry, said they were getting "concerned" about leasing planes to India and expected a shakeout would have to occur within next couple of years.

One persons "shakeout" is another persons "bloodbath", sadly similar result.
Wannabee's take looks spot on.

Cheers.
