Convert Japan 737 rating to Aust.

Hi

Just trying to find out how to convert JCAB 737 rating to CASA ATPL.

The main glitch is how to give JCAB authorisation to provide CASA with details of the Type Rating, bearing in mind very few people in JCAB speak English.
Does anybody have a contact in JCAB to whom I could speak to regarding providing this info.

Thanks

No Response.

There must be someone in Japan who must know who to contact in JCAB with their contact details.
There are a number of expats who must have converted their Japanese Rating to the licence of their home country.

JCAB have to be given authority to release the type rating details, otherwise it can not be transferred.
Would really appreciate some assistance here.

Thanks

Novice,

I think you will find that the problem lies with CASA. It is their requirement to have your permission to release your information, I assume due to Australian privacy laws. I don't believe the same requirement exists in Japan. Have you tried to advise CLARC that permission is granted and they can go ahead and seek verification from JCAB of your rating.

The application form you compete only includes a box to be ticked indicating you have given JCAB permission. Tick the box and submit the form! Worked for me a few years ago.
